@len1444: Well its really hard to show off something thats "the sum of all parts" without an entire playthrough. A quicklook is never gonna give games like this justice.

Hmm. On the one hand I liked the original game but I didn't really like Chloe much at all in that game. She was sort of an awful friend who constantly made terrible choices that the game didn't let you alter (eg. Please stop playing around with a gun/Smoking weed at home and blaming it on me). Does this game make her more likeable than she was in the original game or is this one a write off for me?

Yes you can have Chloe opt out of drugs and weapons if that floats your boat. Just as you could with Max.

I get the complaints and critiques about this game, but calling the game "garbage" is an easy thing to do a solid 15 years after the game initially came out. Game devs, Nintendo included, have learned a LOT about what works and (more importantly) doesn't work about game design since then - and cutting their teeth on games like this were integral to that process. I wonder if anyone dismissing this game as "shit" can name better 3D platformers from that era, I'd be curious to know what you're all comparing this to.

In regards to the content itself - watching the crew fumble through the game is more entertaining to me than watching another speedrun, since I'd be playing at about the same skill level ^_^

I wouldnt call the game shit by any means as its a great game for its time and still fun to play for me. Its my favourite Mario. Jak and Daxter have superior controlls and camera in every possible way if you wanna compare with games from that era however.

I love the crew to fumble and have a hard time now and then but they are just fooling around here. Dan is the only one that gives the game at least 10% of his focus and for that they repeatedly call him a cheater. Maybe it would be good if Dan was away for an episode because that would force the others to actually play and learn the game.

@danryckert: Who is ever gonna believe a heel didnt cheat? If you are gonna play the heel you have to live the heel.

I mean it doesnt even make any sense why you would wanna cheat on that random sandbird level but just go with it, dont fight the storm ;)

They are so bad at this game, I can't watch this series anymore.

It really makes me think though: these people play video games professionally, and they are so bad at it. It makes me shudder to think how bad they must be at driving. And if they are bad at driving, imagine how bad the rest of the world is. And they're all around us on the roads.

*shivers*

When you play upwards to 15 games a week sometimes, playing an old game with a crappy camera once a week for two hours, while swapping controllers so only about 30 minutes a week while also trying to provide commentary to thousands of people and looking at an online live audience, tell me how well you adjust to that control scheme.

The controls are a bit odd but not that odd, its mostly an inverted camera stick they are fighting and they are fighting it by not using at all and then blaming the game for some odd camera angles.

It will be interesting to see when they get to the actually hard levels. If they dont learn the controls this will be an 1000hour series.

Anyways Jak and daxter is a platformer from 2001 with perfect camera so stop saying "This is from 2002 all 3D games was like this".

The subtitles are crap too. Barely a sentence without an error.

Maybe because its like 4 voices saying different things at the same time and its only one of them that gets subtitled. The whole screen would be full if they subtitled everything thats spoken.

Just use the right stick to freely move the camera around like all other third person games out there. That odd and janky "center camera button" hasnt been working for you guys since the very start and i cant understand why everyone exept Dan insists on never using the right stick.

If you need horizontal distance use the spin jump and wait with the hover until the arc is complete. You can cover crazy distances that way. They generally overthink everything they do, which is why it takes so long.

They dont overthink, they mash buttons.
