My current hope is the back compat combined with support of variable resolution or increased framerate cap via update. So the games that scale on current consoles keep all the way up of the resolution scale they support or framerate, with possible upgrade to 60fps where possible. No need to re-sell those games, although I didn’t mind it this gen at all - never understood the backlash those practises got.

I agree with the general sentiment in this thread - the game is ok. The comparisons to The Last of Us are meaningful - the game aims for the same tone and seriousness, but fails basically completely. The story us ok so far, but that’s about it in my half-ish playthrough so far.

Later in the game the game chugs a lot though - only while travelling, it has trouble streaming the enviroment. I don’t know of it’s the faster bike or snow effects, but it’s pretty bad - way worse than what you can see in the Digital Foundry analysis. Ofc with the latest patch and also having the game on an SSD.

And one last note: I had to smile (and literally roll my eyes) when in a certain part w(I will not spoil the specifics) tries to pull some stuff from Red Dead Redemption and it’s just so flat, not working - took me right out of the imersion for sure.

The main thing that pulls me forward is the character building - speaking about the exp system and perks, which make you way more powerful in time. It’s fun.

Looks reasonably ok to me, worth it for the framerate.

Ofc other platforms would be preferable, if portability is not important to you.

Finished it. After 4 years I finished this game, which I thought had no ending and was infinite.

I don’t know how I feel about this. I was shocked at first. I am considering reinstalling it and starting over, but it doesn’t seem right.

I can post a photo of the final screen, currently on mobile so I can do it later, if anyone is interested.

What an experience! I considered writing a review, the minimalist concept brought some interesting ideas to my life, it seriously did.

I think I’ll need to think about it some more.

The final screen doesn’t even show the hole number. Perfect.

My TV is properly calibratdd as well and I hardly ever need to move those in-game sliders. But as said above, every TV is different, every is different and light even changes during the day. So I would adjust once at the start of every game for what feels right and that’s that.

Well I have been using the xbox controllers since 360 came out and only a year ago got my first Ni tendo console, ever, so I expected this to be kind of an issue, but it’s totally fine to me - my brain just switches more or less flawlessly, since day one of owning Switch. It’s a bummer of a situation though, I feel for you.

M specs are:

Win10

AMD Ryzen 3 1300 Quad Core, 3.5GHz

NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030

As said above, I don't believe it is an issue of performance. I have updated the drivers many times to the latest version since I have started trying solving this issue in December, I moved to another city since then, changed jobs twice and had no time to actually solve it and now it is getting on my nerves.

I bought a new PC, specifically for playing videos in up to 4k in my living room. The PC has a quiet cooling, fast enough processor for the video playback and a GPU with a HDMI 2.0 port and a high speed cable for a sufficient connection speed to my 4k TV.

I can not figure out how to play videos in full framerate though. As an example even 1080p videos play in a considerably lower framerate, I noticed this in a Hitman 2 video some time ago, more recently in the Titanfall Breaking Brad ones. But the issue only occurs in fullscreen - when the video runs in a window, maximalised so there are still boarders visible, the video itself is perfect. Once I switch to fullscreen, the framerate goes down. It’s watcheble, but very noticable. Same thing actually happens in youtube videos, the issue seems less prenounced in Firefox than in Chrome, the best workaround for this is to use the app in the TV which works great, obviously. So my main issue at the moment is premium GB videos.

I can post my PC specs if needed, I run the latest drivers and everything. I tried to install the K-lite codec pack, but that didn’t solve anything and I don’t really knwo what elese I could try. I am not advanced enough user to know which setting in the GPU control panel I should tweak.

Any suggestion would be appriciated!
