From a technical perspective it’s undoubtedly the best game they’ve ever produced but I ended up really hating it by the end. The only thing I enjoyed about it was Conner and even those parts just annoyed me because I saw how good it could have been had they had focused solely on him.

It might not be very fair to criticise a game for what you wish it was but I really hated what was there.

It’s funny because I remember Alex talking about it quite negatively on the podcast before I’d played it and I thought “eh, I’m sure I’ll like it because I enjoyed their previous games” I was very wrong.

The game looks tremendous too which makes the game that much more disappointing and everyone involved in making the game look as good as it does deserved to work on something better.

Crunch seems terrible and being expected or forced to work 100 hour weeks is insane and I truly wish this didn’t happen and I hope things change. That being said, my excitement for Red Dead is through the roof and I will 100% be buying it day one.

I honestly think it’s great if not buying the game makes you feel better about this situation but I really don’t see how this problem can be solved by the consumer and don’t see how not buying the game solves anything.

Maybe I’m wrong and people voting with their wallets really would make a difference, I don’t know.

I am not ashamed to say that I love Assassins creed 3. I also didn’t like Origins but love Odyssey. If Odyssey keeps up this quality level over the whole game (I’m 25 hours in) it’ll probably end up being my favourite of the series.

It’s a nice surprise because I had zero expectations since I didn’t like Origins and only bought it because I had an amazon gift card burning a hole in my pocket.

I have been a console player my whole life. I recently upgraded to a 4K TV and have both enhanced consoles and I feel like games are constantly blowing me away. I fully expect that trend to continue with Red Dead.

I think it’s very easy to take for granted how good games actually look today.

@knurrunkulus: I literally spent hours obsessing over this and what I ended up doing was adjusting the Max luminance until I could no longer notice a difference in the test picture. For me the picture kept changing until 1000 so when I turned it up to 1100 there was no change so I turned it back down to 1000 which was the last point that I noticed a change, I hope that makes sense. After I did that the game looked right, anything lower looked wrong. I left the paper white at the default 120 and everything looks good to me.

The only games I really care about coming to BC are Max Payne 3 and the MGS HD collection. I would be over the moon!

I got the platinum and it took me a week of playing at least 5 hours a day to do so I definitely got my money’s worth.

I understand the initial comparison to the Arkham game but I actually think that it’s not a very fair comparison. Outside of some of the combat noises feeling like the were ripped straight out of Batman, the combat is very different.

I’m desperate to see it but it’s not on VOD or in cinemas in the UK.

I have not yet played the original but I really loved Dark Moon. Can’t wait for 3!
