I'm fairly sure it will be the same engine. Todd Howard said in an interview in the last couple of months that they have a new animation system on the way, but it wouldn't be ready for their next game. So now we know their next game is Fallout 76. I'm sure it will look better because they've spent more time with the hardware, but I don't think it's going to be a big leap forward either. The game after this probably will be.
Another thing he mentioned was said that looking at their data, the % of overall players using mods was actually quite small. They initially wanted to do some kind of sharing system for the player-made settlements in Fallout 4 but it didn't work out. I think something like that could add some cool replay value if parts of the map were based on other user's settlements. When you think about how much user generated content their is for their games, and how they now have the bethesda.net modding database integrated into them, I imagine they will find some way to further leverage that.
I think 'online elements' in this is going to be more like the Dark Souls model, where you can coop and potentially a version of your character can show up in other people's games, maybe as a player controlled invasion or maybe as an NPC. Or like Mother Bases in MGSV. Or like the secret bases in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire.
I've gotten a decent amount of enjoyment out of BF2 so far. The thing that would keep me playing at this point is new maps, especially for the Starfighter Assault because that is legitimately fun and feels better balanced than the normal on-foot game mode.
Just in case people hadn't seen it, here is the moon pic posted from the now protected Kasma Corp account:
June 10th is also the date for the Bethesda E3 showcase. I can't imagine they would do all this just to delay the 'reveal' until June, so I imagine June 10th will be the release date. One of those 'you can play this today!' things that look good on stage.
I can't wait. PREY was my game of the year for 2017 and I'm really into the idea of exploring a rival corporation on Moon. There is a lot of very cool stuff they could do with DLC.
Dude what. This is a thread full of people currently playing a game that came out days ago, please don't post unmarked discouraging stuff about the ending that you've randomly watched early.
