Haven't played 2 since launch but I was luke warm on it back then, I really enjoyed 3 despite it's pretty bad writing all around(beyond a few side quests that are actually kinda funny).

It's hard to imagine metal gear without Kojima, it will undoubtedly be missing something. It could end up good in it's own right if they really reboot it from the ground up, tone wise and everything. At that point though it'd be best to just make something new instead.

Looking back the most fun was when Austin Joined GBeast and they started exploring new types of games and content.

tbh for console gaming I think monitors are overpriced, especially if HDR matters to you. You could get a 50inch 120hz Oled for about the same price or lower than a monitor with actual HDR and high refresh etc. I think Hardware Unboxed on youtube does good reviews for monitors if that's the route you really wanna go, but they are expensive as fuck IMO. I think Rtings.com is a good site for TV reviews if you go that route

I remember a couple years back there was a big thread because CBSI was running tracking cookies without consent, so I don't think much has changed on that front(use privacy badger and adblock). And this site isn't good with handling conflicting opinions about anything outside of actual video games so it's no wonder the thread probably got closed.

do you play other shooters on there? Maybe you are just used to the 1ms input lag of a mouse on a monitor and the 16+ms(some tv's are over 30ms actually) of a controller feels bad to you? Have you tried it with a gamepad on your laptop? Could also try and mess with the analog speeds etc as that could feel like lag, but it would seem weird for a game like doom to have worse input lag than other shooters on a console.

They will do way better. For one they have set hardware that will be manufactured in house(or through one manufacturer at least) unlike the steam machines that relied on third parties or even users to make their own machines etc. The price point is also more reasonable and it's still pretty hackable and there are also so many smaller game on steam now that can be played on a game pad and also don't really need high fps(even if they do the FSR stuff is actually pretty good and will probably get better). The hype is already way bigger for this than when the steam machines were announced, that was really a confusing mess all around though.

Also, there aren't very many handhelds out there besides the switch and a few other portable pc's, so the market is ripe for competition and steam can pretty much offer a lot more games than nintendo.

Seems like he realized his behavior was bad and stepped down months ago before any media coverage, so why exactly is this news right now?

A lot of false clickbait, pretty much only shitty prebuilds with inefficient power supply's are affected, and have to pass certification to be sold. Upgradable pc's and DIY's aren't really affected. I have no idea why a big company like dell wouldn't have already complied with this as it was passed years ago. I wouldn't doubt they are trying to boost sales by getting in the headlines for being "banned".

In my fantasy world this would be a pretty cool replacement for the Link as a way play my Steam library on a TV, but I don't think it's going to be that. Shame they didn't go with an Nvidia GPU. Add DLSS, and you'd at least potentially have something that's both a good handheld and a reasonable docked device.

At this point, it's just kinda "ok...cool?" until they give samples to someone who's actually going to put it through its paces.

they have to use an APU with something this small, and Nvidia's APU's are trash compared to AMD's I think. You'd basically just get the Switch at that point. But with FSR from AMD it shouldn't have issue, especially at that screen size and resolution, hopefully it can be universally implemented after the source code is released.
