@puddingbrummsel: Really? Most the people I know who I have talked to about it have been luke warm at best. I thought the general opinion of the movie was that it was only ok.
@jehull: Which is fine. Like they guys said in the video, not everyone is going to like all the content the site produces. Perhaps this series just isn't for me. If there are a lot of other people who are enjoying it then that is great. I am just expressing my view on the series.
This may be the least enjoyable series in the history of the site. I do not care at all about Kingdom Hearts and have never played any of the games, it just isn't my thing. That being said I thought the premise for this series sounded interesting. Ben taking a keen interest in a game series that he has never played before in anticipation of an upcoming new release sounds like it could be fun. Unfortunately that is not what we are getting. I could even see the bit working if Ben was interested and was trying to get other staff members interested despite their obvious reluctance but that is also not what is happening. Instead Ben is basically as apathetic about the series as his co-hosts are and it is leading to some boring content that is not, in any way, fun to watch. It was a good thought but this series either needs a serious rework (maybe bring in a cohost who knows the game and likes the series?) or should be cancelled altogether.
@lanechanger: They did eventually try for more action and the stream was instantly more exciting. But the first hour of this is just tedious and boring. The first school jump was the first time this one was actually good.
Keep in mind I also don't want to see them continually jump into an area with 20 other people and end up dead in 5 mins because I also think that would get dull. It needs to be a good mix of action and suspense. The reason I think the "spicy" strategy works is that there are going to be times when you do a jump and just end up alone with some time to loot, like the second school jump.
Funnily enough I think that second school jump could have been a pretty good and entertaining run. They were alone in the school and got gear pretty quick and there were people nearby that they could have then pursued. But for some reason Brad, who I am pretty sure is the one who pointed out that there were people fighting in those apartments, suddenly ran off by himself to those apartments without telling anyone.
@roy42: lol. The first thing I thought of when they said that was Will Smith as well! I was like great they are bringing in a ringer! Was a little disappointed that it was just a gag. However that is maybe a great idea for a future episode. Bring in a coach of some kind. Someone who knows the game and how to play who can give them some tips?
@porousshield: It is super annoying. They seem to think that they have to constantly be looting at the expense of all other things. Despite the fact that they continually get kitted up and then die after a short fire fight. Yes better loot is good but most of the time getting the drop on your opponent is what is most important. Get loot when you can but not at the expense of being aware of your surroundings and actually going for kills.
This series has at times been great and other times it is awful. Watching people run around and loot shit for 20 minutes only to die after a 10 second fire fight is just not entertaining. A lesson I thought they learned when they were trying to get "spicy".
