I'm so glad they're finally at 5! Before 5 I was mainly just into Tokyo Drift as its own thing, but this is the one that sold me on the whole series. This series is a staple in my movie library now, and it all started with this movie. Looking forward to re-watching 6 with their commentary next week.
I can already tell I'm going to get annoyed by all the "You're the pathfinder!" nonsense. Can't we have a game where I'm just a somewhat skilled guy who happens to be in the right place at the right time? I want to be me in space basically. With some additional added team leading charisma. I don't want a title that's being thrown around like messiah.
Why do I have to be the only one who can do the thing. Especially when the thing doesn't seem like anything that unique to this one individual. At least Shepard received a one time only warning from an ancient alien race. What makes a pathfinder so special and capable of finding the path? I haven't watched the full video, but the way they talk about "we didn't have a pathfinder before!" makes it sound like they're a bunch of children waiting around for adult supervision before they do anything.
Everything else seems...fine I suppose. Animation is rough, but nothing I can't endure. Combat looks fun. Hard to judge the story and characters without seeing too much, and I don't want to see too much.
@marv89: That literally is what it is though. Unless you have some proven way to define it as a "half fledged console" or even a "two-thirds fledged console".
This actually sold me on 1 2 switch. This has enough in it and is just stupid enough to make for a good family gathering game and a good drinking game with a few close friends. I don't think it'll have a huge amount of longevity, but putting it into my jackbox rotation sounds like a good enough time for a bit. This video in general was just good fun. Found myself laughing at most of the games more than I expected.
Really its the team battle aspect that sold me on it. I didn't know it was going to have this team versus team race to the finish line mode in it.
@yummytreesap: I'm kind of curious where you would plan on going with it that you wouldn't also be bringing some kind of bag or backpack with you anyway? I can't imagine even pocketing the smallest 3ds model comfortably while I'm out and about. For me it has an advantage in that I have to take a backpack to both my job and my college classes regardless of if I have this with me or not. So it's not too much of a stretch for me to imagine just putting this in my bag with the rest of my stuff.
I doubt it had anything with how you shot this but this video made me literally throw up. It was the constant zooming in and while Alex was in the more well lit room when he went to zoom into anything my entire room started spinning and I threw up. I was feeling nauseous before that but be warned if you get car sick or motion sick this really bugged me and I've played FPS for 20+ years.
I just started watching this QL and thought the same thing. Not sure what it is about the movement/camera but I don't like it at all. Does it have low frame rate as you pan about? Is it the very slow movement speed coupled with something else? I don't know but I can't finish this QL as it makes me very uncomfortable watching.
I'll third this. I had it playing on my second monitor and could feel myself starting to feel really off just by watching it. Enough to have to stop the video a little over 10 minutes in. Games rarely trigger my motion sickness anymore, but yeah, this game is pretty bad for me for whatever reason.
