The concept of the game is cool and I wish I could play it, but even watching 3 minutes of it has me feeling my heavy motion sickness setting in. I'd be out for the count if I tried to play a full session of this game it seems.

Was an alright showing I guess?

Open world being the big news about halo is...kinda boring to be honest. I know there's probably more, but at this point it's the current selling piece of the new console. So...sell me on it maybe? I can play quite a few well crafted open world games this gen, so what does halo infinite do for me other than just catch up to those games? And I'm not the kind of person to freak out and buy it because it's halo, so maybe this games just not being made for me.

Obsidians news was probably what I enjoyed the most. I'm really excited to see what game they're going to make in Eora after Pillars. I would've liked another isometric rpg, but I think the first person rpg move is a good one considering Elder Scrolls is going to be a no show for awhile still.

The Gunk was the other standout for me. Looked interesting and I'm curious to try it out.

I'm also glad to see that microsoft is continuing to put a lot of value into gamepass. If their plan is to keep my subscription then the good news for them is it's working.

@2headedninja: While it's true they sense of urgency at the beginning is pretty problematic for the rest of the game, I don't think the amount of time it takes to harvest everything really throws a wrench in what they're going for.

If I remember right, the time to harvest all life took so long because the protheons were set up to fight a long and protracted game of survival. They lost their home planets and a lot of people because they chose to allow it for others to escape, and it enabled them the ability to hideout, split up, and run from planet to planet while trying to cobble together a way to win or survive. That was my understanding and memory of it at least. The difference with events in ME3 is that for our civilizations it's unacceptable to lose Earth and the other homeworlds. ME3 is about minimizing the loss which is why stopping them from harvesting the home planets (namely Earth) is given "urgency" in the story. Getting to the point of -now we're hiding and it's going to take them forever to harvest us all- is what the urgency is driving us to avoid.

Man the AC talk was a bummer. It really showed that none(?) of them actually watched the direct and were just reading off a generic bulleted list of features. I remember years ago their biggest complaints about AC were how it never changed and never added in obvious quality of life features. Well they are this time and the only thing that's worth talking about is that you can only have 1 island per console? Okay. At least there isn't a "mayor" this time that prevents anyone who wasn't the first to move in from doing all the cool stuff.

So wait did Abby really ignore the Witcher 3 because Yennefer was naked for 10 seconds with Geralt (who was also naked in the tub)? That's a shame because both the witcher books and the witcher game have some great women characters who dont take the shit that medievil fantasy world tries to hand them. I can understand wanting to stay away from things that are like anime fan service styled "let's show off the naked woman" kind of thing, but it's kind of baffling to think about the character she missed with that assumption.

To be fair to Jeff, those hidden identity games feel like total bull when you're the person who has to hide 3 times in a row.

Faking it had some impossible tricks to lie your way out of which really defeats the point of having to talk your way out. This one looked a little better but I saw at least one that looked like it intentionally screwed him over. The jackbox versions of these hidden agent games are definitely more focused on the humor of "hah, we got you cause you answered farts to your favorite food!" Other kinds of these games dont trick you with opposite questions but instead give you an opposite goal to work for while trying to hide your identity. That way if you get caught it's because you overplayed your hand and not because you answered a question that's impossible to justify. So, yeah, cant blame him for not liking being it 3 times in a row when they were still learning the rules.

Seems like it might be more fun if the alien had a goal to work towards other than just sit there and decide when to use 2 hacks while you hope that people dont ask you increasingly difficult questions for 12 minutes.

@north6: Its not really that limited. I think the ride can tire out if you use it too much per quest, but realistically you're just going to use it to get to the monster once and then chase it around on foot after that. Unless it's something like Rathalos that jumps to the opposite side of the map when it runs. I suppose you could run out of juice if you were out gathering on an expedition for awhile.

It's a nice feature. It will take you to whatever you pin on the map and you can choose to have it walk or run. Run if you want to get there fast, walk if you want to gather along the way. And you can go through all your prep and setup items on the ride there.

@steveurkel: Awakening is a good entry to the series if you dont want a game that's as heavy on the social persona-styled gameplay. But Three Houses is looking like the best modern Fire Emblem available. It still needs to get out of the honeymoon phase, but right now all signs point to it being regarded much more highly than awakening and fates in the fanbase. At this point I'd avoid fates entirely unless you really really only care about gameplay and nothing else.

Thought the whole God of War discussion that people are talking about here was fine. Abby expressed her opinion, Vinny wanted to hear some further explanation of her opinion and terms she used (either for himself, the room, or the audience, I dont know) in comparison to how he interpreted the topic. I dont think either Vinny or Abby were being overly defensive at all. Abby used some language, but if you listen to her in her usual speech she tends to say fucking as an adjective a lot anyway. And at some point we all feel like "I understand what you're saying, but I still feel the way that I feel about it" when talking to someone.

If we're reaching a point where Vinny wanting to compare his contrasting opinion for understanding is defensive then we're failing to understand basic and healthy debate. Could it have been ended less abruptly, sure, but they had enough of a discussion that it didnt hurt my ability as an audience member to understand both of their opinions on it. I dont think it's really worth nitpicking on this subject, but that's just my 2 cents.

If Dan loves when the best fighters are brought together in things then he absolutely should watch Super.
