@mavs: not exact numbers but the estimated time to mainline Origins is 27.5 hours. That's on the shorter end of the genre.

Dragon Quest 11 is at around 54.5 hours. Witcher 3 is at 49 hours. Persona 5 is 96 hours, Divinity 2 is at 49 hours, GOW 2018 which is barely a RPG and not even open world clocks in at 19.5
Should they remove it? Sure, the xp boost serves very little purpose but the game is in no way built around microtransactions. It's a RPG, those are long games.
Maybe my thoughts will change by the end of the game but so far I like this more than Origins in pretty much every single way and Origins was my goty last year. Kassandra is a cool ass character and so far her story is way more interesting than Bayek's jumbled mess of a revenge story. I also think the setting is far more interesting and I like how some of your choices have consequences. I 100% all of Origins and the dlc and still wanted more so this being a massive game isn't a dealbreaker for me. I'll probably be playing this well into next year like I did with Origins.
@humanity: I'm guessing it's because even though UC4's story was incredibly generic and cliche it has incredibly high production values and is well acted. To a lot of people that matters more than how the game actually plays. Personally I'll take any of the Tomb Raider games over any Uncharted game but that's because I like the gameplay more. Most video game stories dont do much for me.
@onemanarmyy: throughout the game she's literally taking pictures of the main story tombs she walks into. That's how she knows about the trials. Also you can turn off all the Lara Tomb VO, that's just there to help the player. In fact the absolute best way to play this is on hard because it turns off all the hints and Uncharted paint on climbable ledges and it nerfs instincts mechanic.
@matiaz_tapia: you start off in Mexico for the tutorial mission and then it leads you to Peru. The plane crash is when you're in Peru. And yea, they explain why there are Mayan ruins in Peru.

It's a ripoff and makes the grind for operators worse. Shell out the extra money for any version above that. All the starter ops are still 100% viable and useful.
@lt_kettch237: yea it kinda does seem like Vinny is injecting his bias a bit before Alex can make his own decisions which is a shame. The aliens look like animals comment is just about the worst she gets. I don't get where the idea that she's outright xenophobic comes from.
