I love everything about what they've done the last few years except putting out games. Sony has been killing it in that regard, while simultaneously being a lot less consumer friendly. Phil Spencer is, I think, the realest dude in the biz. If they can turn all these studio acquisitions into a decent stable of first party games then I could root for them to be on top.

I just can't seem to care about this game. I like most of Metal Gear. Zone of the Enders was pretty cool. Boktai was a neat idea. But I never got to the level of Kojima worship I've seen in others. And I'm a champion of new and weird ideas, especially in this industry. But just....nothing about this looks interesting.

I liked the idea of it. And I'd do anything for more GBEast series' that aren't just them playing an entire game in 50 parts.

Hallow Knight is, I think, a better game than the titans of the genre like Super Metroid and SOTN. An absolutely incredible achievement for such a small team. Yet even so I can't help but feel a bit disappointed that they're just going to keep making more Hallow Knight. It looks great, and I'll play it for sure. I guess it's kind of similar to how I felt about Retro Studios "Oh. Just another Prime?" or Rocksteady "Just still doing the Batman thing huh". The studios are so talented I want to see them keep doing cool new things.

I got Firewall Zero Hour for PSVR because the bundle was the only way I could get an Aim comtroller around here. The game seems SO cool and the kind of game I dreamed about playing as a kid. But the game requires so much communication and teamwork I can't bring myself to play it because of my social anxiety.

I wouldn't think twice about moving into a place someone died in. I would think twice about moving into a place where a particularly nasty murder took place, but only because it would be on my mind a lot and not because of any fears or anything, and I'd still go ahead with it if the place was nice and the right price.

But to me the question of if I'd move into a haunted place is entirely different from if I'd move into a place people died. I've lived in a place many people would and have called haunted. And I'm not going to say one way or another exactly what was happening there, but I would never stay in a place like that again. No fucking way.

I can guarantee if some shady electronics company came to Dan with a plan to spread the Dan Ryckert brand he would 100% be on board.

I don't know how upset some people are actually getting but if my memory of the 8.8 fiasco is accurate it wouldn't surprise me. You could tell right away with RDR2 it was going to turn off a lot of people. Jeff more than anything cares about how a game feels. He don't fuck with animation priority or tank controls or anything like that. The only issue I have is when people talk about this stuff as bad design rather than deliberate design. Red Dead is going for something specific with every aspect of its many systems. And if you ain't down with that, whatever. Nothing wrong with that. But some of the criticism sounds like someone watching a David Lynch film and complaining it's not like Die Hard. But even then it's more an eye roll than any actual hurt feelings.
