kind of a slower day today.listened to the current podcast which eats up my endurane time for the day. Still I got through a few podcasts and a couple of fun videos
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY!!!
-Peter Molyneux gives Fable II a 9/10! Funny how people look highly on things they create
-lots of hate mail for crocs
-recipes for panda power bombs and some pinata drink... I forgot what it was called. Apparently it tastes like candy which seems appropriate
-Brad's timid and then ubruptly creepy viva pinata review...
-age of booty preview showdown office party drunkenness?
I'm ending my day with the spore-cast. I just watched the review and I'll be listening to the rest of the coverage on the way home.
PAX Panel '08 was today. More fun from the crew! Also the Too Human "Video Thing" SILLINESS!!!
HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY!!!
-Street Fighter 4 keeps coming up more and more as it's release draws ever closer
-Announcement of the new 360 controller with a less shitty D-Pad
-Brad randomly walks out of the podcast yet again. I do love that break music though
-at the end of the 8/26 podcast, inexplicable 3 minutes of silence followed by vinny making some weird "jigga jigga jigga" sound and saying "white lines" then you can hear jeff say "pure as the driven snow" wtf?
-Jeff discuses the time between gamespot and giant bomb. nice to get a bit more of the story of the rise of giant bomb
-Also get to see the first appearance of Matt Rorie before he became "the guy from screened"
10 days in and the days are falling off the calendar more slowly as the podcasts get longer and there's more videos. Not even to the point of endurance runs yet. Going to feel like a crawl eventually. Towards the end of August 2008.
HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY!!!
-Hemp milk and oat milk, alongside with Jeff's extremely accurate portrayal of a hippie
-"Well you know what's not the new sweat? Hitler"-Ryan Right afterwards we awards himself with "Best statement of the year"
-Discussion of Hitler needing to be in more games. Sonic vs. Hitler. Cooking Mama with Hitler
-That mustache is circumstantial. Charlie Chaplin was a good guy.
-"Stick a shotgun in an ant hill and see what happens"
-also got to see the EA summer showcase 2008! Fun stuff there.
-Fable 2 pub games and Giant Bomb's first official 1 star game
-and lastly, the story of the kid dropping out of school to be a professional guitar hero player. parenting at it's finest.
E3 '08 event videos and podcasts are in my rearview mirror, and got through the first post-launch casts! Videos will now be shuffled with my podcasts, so this will be a lot more fun from here on out.
HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY!
-Site launches! For some reason, not with ryan? Odd
-Hamburger forum the most popular? Because they were talking about it, or is it really the number one thing on everyone's mind?
-"it's like a dream a unicorn has inside a snowglobe! -Ryan" this was so off the cuff and random... is this from something? Maybe I marvel the random too much
lots of user questioned answered today in these podcasts so there's not a ton to report unfortunatly. More next week?
Got through some E3-casts and some E3 videos today! Their excitement is my excitment!
HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY!
-many new games to be excited about as they talk about Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Bayonetta and on of my personal favorites, BORDERLANDS!! Let the gun lust begin
-Wii Music.... who was that ever for?
-they talked about Lips as the Highlight of E3....wtf? Of course they also went on to say there was a suprising lack of new announcments this year though, so i guess that puts it into perspective... (lights up the shaft that pulse to the music)
- describing the lack of allan wake as "Weekend Dad" was probably the highlight of the week so far. "i waited on the porch for you all day" "i got my haircut for you dad" so funny
Didn't get through much today, but that's expected on a wednsday. I still gotta get my regular podcast in. Got through right up until the podcast before the E3 '08 Podcasts. Tomorrow I get to start video! (E3 videos)
HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY!
-the past few days I've been hearing lots of silly talk about Afrika from the crew, but today they actually showed a general interest and excitment towards it. Very strange that a "pokemon snap but with real animals" type game would be something they would be in to.
-in reference to canadians "they have 2 rows of teeth like a shark"
-the infamous "one of us walked away with a bloody nose, the other walked away covered in poop. who won?" conversation. GOOOOD stuff
well like I said, the E3 '08 casts are on the "to-listen" list for tomorrow so it should be fun stuff. Until then...
3 podcasts down today! I am in to the July-casts! By at the latest, thursday, I'll be in video territory! Tomorrow marks the first week. Not too bad so far.
HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY!!!
-Metal Gear Spoiler Cast! Fun stuff! Wish I could listen to them give their thoughts on almost every scene of more games.
-PS3 trophy launch and speculations. That trophy noise is very important
-Pre-World Tour talk. These past few podcasts they have gone from "there's only one set of plastic instruments I want to own" to "where am I going to keep all of these plastic instruments?"
-Denis Dyack and Neogaf bumping heads before the launch and fail of Too Human. Oh, denny dy....you so crazy
-And the last major highlight, Announcment of giant bomb going into Beta! Looking like video city in a matter of days
I think I'll keep these to a "highlights of the day" style. I prefer blogging this way, though it might not hold interest for anyone else
Didn't get very far today, and haven't been working on it this weekend. I've been working on Mass Effect 2 and that's a game you need to pay a little attention to. The 2 hour premium content posted today ate up a lot of my attention today, but I did get through a couple of podcasts.
HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY!!! -Vinny and Brad on for good! Finally feel like the podcasts are on track. -Metal Gear Solid 4 Pre-Talk! Tomorrow I get to hear their reactions to it. -Salty sweedish candy!... OH dear god why.... -Itagaki leaves team ninja in a not so subtle way
A bit of a slow day. Look forward to tomorrow! -Klimdeeni
