I was pleasantly surprised with the game. I definitely agree it's the weakest of the three, but still a very solid game and I'm even a bit surprised it never came up in top 10 talks. The biggest flaw in my mind is it was a lot more of the same. A lot. I can see how this series is going to really suffer from franchise fatigue unless the formula is drastically changed. But that said, I was extremely surprised and pleased with the story, the cut scenes, and definitely the boss battles. Each assassin fight felt extremely unique and tense, and was the biggest 'new' gimmick brought to the series.
@scribbly: I've found the Star Wars Clone Wars table to be really good for learning the mechanics of both pinball and PinballFX 2. So many ramps that are great for practicing lining up your shots with, and it has a slightly more intuitive rule set in my opinion.
Aren't these scores pretty similar to how 3 was reviewed? I liked 3 (loved most of it, but was hugely disappointed with how haphazardly the Desmond story-line was rushed to a conclusion)
I love these Games on Demand sales, and picked up Arkham Asylum last week for $10. But one thing that keeps me from buying more is lack of hard drive space... I'm still rocking an original model 360. Hard drive space is a non-issue for me when buying from Steam, so that's been the biggest differentiation in my experience.
I believe that Halo Wars is a much more realized and balanced RTS game than it gets credit for, and is probably one of the top 5 games I've put the most time into. Playing 2v2 with an experienced friend is an absolutely amazing experience. And I actually prefer the slower pace than Starcraft, because it makes your decisions and micro much more important, instead of training to improve your APM.
Wasn't Fable 3 the first free game offered? And I gotta say, I'm pretty excited to get this game for free. I've already played the crap out of Halo 3 and AC2
