@ultimaxe: I'm about the same age as you. I didn't see Annihilation in the cinema but I rented it one weekend from a video store with my cousin. We turned it off half way through and walked an hour back to the store to return it the same day.

I agree with Alex on the OWL thing. I think it's a terrible, terrible game to spectate. It suffers from the fact that all the action takes place between 12 players in a tiny amount of space. All the action happens mostly around one single location - be it a capture point that's not much bigger than say a tennis court or a moving point that's essentially a flatbed truck - apart from someone playing a Widowmaker off to the side it makes it incredibly hectic to view.

I watch a few different esports. Mostly Evo, HoTS and SC2. I'll turn on CS:Go at Dreamhack and check it out. All of those games are better for viewing because they take place over bigger areas/ranges and there's an ebb and flow to whats happening, or there's not as much noise on the screen.

@chunkygerbil: They make the rules and the content. People saying "this doesnt feel right cause X" seems incredibly petty. While youre right that this is tame compared to other "feedback", it's still a bunch of people trying to tell the staff that they're categories are wrong as if the staff don't know the rules or discuss it themselves.

It's great that we have people telling the people who create the videos and features that they're naming things wrong. Who'd have thought that people would move beyond complaining about how they play games and onto how they name videos.

Can't wait for people to tell the people behind the site that they're not celebrating the 10 year anniversary properly.

@bisonhero: That boss made me stop playing FTL. The first time I got to it I got ruined. The second time, I threw everything I had at what turned out to be it's first form and then it went into it's second form and picked me apart easily. I'd sacrificed crew members who died on it when it blew up, resources etc. I've never been more annoyed at a game. So I stopped playing. Then hearing about how you can pretty much waste an hour getting to the boss, with all these weird builds which are fun but entirely useless for fighting that boss made me glad I never wasted more time with it.

It's impossible if you don't get the right dice rolls on the way up to it. Something you have no control over.

Hearing that ITB doesn't have that level of bullshit makes me interested in playing it.

This is the first time I've actually seen this game in action, because anytime the devs or publishers show anything of it, it's some nostalgic VCR replica cartoon piece.

On that note - I was sort of done with the VCR thing back when GALAK-Z was doing it years ago but it seems to be popping up again in every other Devolver Game. I get it. VCR tracking. It was bad back then and it's bad now.

@rave: I jumped online with a friend the other night and we expected it to be a nightmare to get in a game together based on everything people have been saying online. "Twenty minutes" and "couldn't figure out".

I invited him to a game, he posted a quest, I went to join quest, we're now in a quest together. Simple. There's a lot of making mountains out of molehills going on.

@ybbaaabby - You can turn the monitor off on your PC while using a steam link with no issues. The signal will still go to the link and then into the tv. I've a similar set up and I need to turn the monitor off or else I'll keep catching it out of the corner of my eye while using the TV.

@ksck26:You may never respond to this if you're truly done with your time here but I've some questions about your comment.

No premium has ever been abandoned because it was an unfunny, unprepared mess the way Kingdom Heartache was.

None of us know the real reason for KH being canned. Some people suggest it was unfunny, others suggest it was unprepared. Others think the whole thing is some sort of meta-joke and it never intended to run past those few episodes.

However, other premium series that never really got off the ground. KH has 5 episodes a week apart. Ranking of Fighters has 7 episodes since starting in 2015. Game Tapes started in 2016, it has 7 episodes too. Neither of those features are by new hires. There was also that thing Vinny did one time - which may or may not have been a premium feature - where he gave a quick run down of some games they tried but decided not to do quick looks of.

I'm not calling them out for this stuff, but KH is hardly the only feature to ever either be abandoned or on an extremely rocky schedule.

They are both hires because, to put it bluntly, they have personal connections to the site while being completely unqualified.

So I know that Ben used to be an intern. How was Abby personally connected to the site pre-hire?

The West office puts out a video a week, if you're lucky, and whats the excuse now?

Between today and the start of the year there's been 16 videos uploaded by the East and 18 by the West (this excludes the video podcasts). So what you're saying here doesn't track at all.

@humanity: Maybe he models himself on those wrestlers who don't talk. Like maybe he's a Paul Heyman guy (I believe that's a thing).

I ended up checking out of this video about 40 minutes in. It's not really for me. Fair play to Abby and Ben actually going through with voice acting the characters (a joke I'd made before the first episode) but I'm more interested in them commentating on whats going on rather than just doing silly voices for VN games.

Also since it looks like the banner is done - people who want to comment on every video about how bad they are and how they're not respecting the "medium of VNs" by playing classics - maybe just look at the banner and check out now instead of harping on about how once again someone on the internet is playing something wrong.

Wow I wasn't sure of the format this was going to take but they really are just going to read through dating games. They should get acclaimed voice actor Dan Ryckert to guest star in an episode, that man if nothing else can deliver lines of dialog with ferocity and conviction I have never heard before.

That's one way to put it!
