@rorie hot tip: the mummy in the Temple levels vomits out yellow particles that fill up Kali's skull cup thingy just like blood does. That means that if you find a mummy on a ledge just above you, you can get them to vomit over you again and again and you get as much life as you want. It's pretty simple to pull off, and if you do, you enter Hell with like 50 life.
There were a whole bunch of great opportunities to do this in the video, one good example was around 21:20. Throw a rope up the ledge, and then climb up it till you're, like, one and a half tiles below, and let the mummy walk over to you. He'll start to vomit life all over your body:
@vinny The ammo powers (like Flame Ammo or Armor-Piercing) aren't regular abilities, they're basically "toggles". You toggle Flame Ammo on and then you just have it until you toggle it off. It's therefore pretty pointless to map it to a button, just activate it from the wheel and then it's on for the rest of the mission. That's why Alex felt like nothing was happening when he was activating/deactivating James's Flame Ammo with the D-Pad: nothing is supposed to happen, James just changes ammo types.
The platforming in Doom 2016 very well done, so I'm not too worried. I basically have complete confidence in this dev team to pull Doom off. I guess I'm setting myself up for disappointment :)
Typical Giant Bomb, going with these obscure fighting games nobody's heard of instead of the true classics. Who's even heard of this "Street Fighter II"? Bring back Power Moves for the SNES!
