I'd be so down for a new Bloodlines game or even a remake of the original. The first act of that game is simply incredible; before it gets bogged down in bugs and poor design decisions.

He sat down.

Yeah, I get this all the time. Most recently, when I was playing AC: Odyssey, I was super disappointed that some regions had zero story missions (main or side). Sure there's some grindy bandit camps and the like, but what purpose are these regions serving? Maybe some will eventually host DLC, but that's small consolation for the feelings of pointlessness I get while playing.

Looks like several people beat me to the punch about Vaan's late addition to the game, so I'll just chime and agree that he's a terrible waste. I would've vastly preferred a game centered around Basch and Ashe, or maybe Balthier and Fran if Square wanted to retread Zidane from IX but without the baggage. And, altogether, the four of them are strong enough characters that no further party members are even needed.

@mellotronrules: So in the US at least, it is to the consumer's benefit. The publisher lowered the retail price from $59.99 to $49.99, citing the lower cut of sales that Epic takes.

When Ryan died, someone at another forum I was at posted the news and a bit of background about him. I was sorry to hear someone had died, but didn't know anything about him and that would've been the end of it. However, the background included a mention of Jeff as one of the other creators of Giant Bomb and I had heard of Jeff before and what had happened with him at Gamespot. So I decided to check out the site, since I was looking for more video game content at the time. I'm fuzzy on the exact order of events after that, but at some point by the Fall/Winter of 2013 I was a regularly Bombcast listener, I started watching videos regularly some time in late 2014/early 2015, and I become premium in late 2015 (when the Life is Strange playthrough moved behind the paywall).

Once I started watching videos regularly and checking out the back catalog content, I finally got to see what Ryan was like. Good dude.

Last generation by far for me. This generation does have some benefits, the games are more technically impressive and the indies are far better and more numerous, but there's almost no AAA games I want to play. Whereas last generation I was down for so many AAA games. I want the sprawling story-driven single player game with huge production values, and if it's relatively linear than all the better. I want a cinematic experience, not goofy open-world jank.

If the combat encounters are truly rebalanced around the change (big IF), this could be the thing that gets me to finally get past Act I of the game. I find RTwP to be such a chore and have vastly preferred the games like D:OS 1 & 2, Wasteland 2, the Shadowrun games, etc. that are turn-based instead.

A lot of the older games on your wishlist are incredibly important from a historical standpoint, but they aren't always great to play these days if you don't have the nostalgia of originally playing them. For instance, GTA III, that's not a fun game to play today IMO.

Another important consideration, are you going to have a monitor or will you be hooking up your PC to your TV? Because some PC games, especially older ones plus almost everything Paradox puts out, have impossibly small text to read on a TV screen. Most games though, including all the big ones these days, scale appropriately and it isn't an issue.

As for newer games, you've got a good collection on your wishlist covering most genres, so it really depends on what you like. I'd suggest adding They Are Billions if you like base-building in your RTS games at all though; it's great.

The Pinkertons have shown up in a ton of games, movies, tv shows, etc. before, some of them rather high profile (Bioshock: Infinite, the first RDR, a bunch of movie westerns, etc.) and almost always are the antagonists or otherwise look bad. Makes no sense that this is the time they decide to get litigious. But I guess everyone is these days.
