@lingxor: From listening to the latest Waypoint episode, it sounds like there actually is some really interesting lore. But its arguably even harder to find, and less referenced anywhere in the parts of the game you actually play, than the Destiny 1 lore.
Hopefully, if EA gives them the opportunity, Bioware will actually work that lore into future content.
Honestly, I'd play that Vernum Rex fake game. That was a better anime bullshit cutscene than anything in FFXIII, XIII-2, or Lightning Returns (I haven't played XV).
IIRC, there's not a ton of paragon/renegade QTEs in the cutscenes, but the ones that are there are often some of the coolest moments in the game. Hopefully Alex remembers to keep his hands on the controller at all times.
I don't think I'm smart enough for this game. I did pretty well at Opus Magnum, only got stuck in the final chapter; but this seems a little too abstract for me to wrap my head around.
This was a good one (and Mars Nobody really is a hell of a name). But I think I liked the first two of these more than last year's or this one, and it has nothing to do with Dan or Abby, they've been great. The mechanical simplicity of the games those first two years allowed them to be much more collaborative and Austin was more of a fellow player than a GM; but now he is entirely a GM and helping guide them down a story. Austin's an amazing GM, and I've really liked what I've listened to of Friends at the Table, but I enjoy listening to the Beastcast crew figure out improv scenes more than overcoming GM-created challenges.
I still had a blast listening to this, but if they do another one next year, I hope they use a ruleset closer to Fiasco.
I have so much respect for Ben from all these discussions, absolute MVP IMO. He did a great job at always having well-reasoned arguments, being convincing and hanging with the toughest debaters there, being able to get conversations back on track when they were getting derailed, and always having a sense of humor about it all.
This looks stylish as hell. But, besides style, the thing I've always liked about Supergiant games is that they play so different from the other games that are out there. But this looks like a ton of other games.
@itsahme: It's the name of the winter storm/blizzard that hit a lot of the upper midwest and great plains over the weekend. It caused a lot of flight cancelations, including the one Dan was trying to take from Kansas to SF.
The true insanity of this game isn't the bad controls or bad graphics, lots of games have those. It's the maybe-incest and the non-explained supernatural stuff that makes this truly special.
