I wish more announcements would be like what Nintendo did with Donkey Kong, they announced Donkey Kong Country Returns at E3 and it's out now, that's great.

I know exactly. I mean I'm never going to expect Gabe Newell to hold a press conference about Half LIfe 2 episode 3 and then say "And its out today!" but I'm so tired of the current business model. What was the point of announcing Twisted Metal last year? Other than E3 and Dave Jaffes twitter did Sony say anything about it? Sony could have held off on that announcement until E3 2011 and then say it would be coming out in holiday 2011. i would be way more pumped about it then.
I also think retailers have something to do with it as well. Pre orders are basically money they can take early for products that are years away.
After watching all the new trailers from the VGA's I couldn't help but think that at least one of them would be delayed. I wish that publishers could be a little more realistic with their timeframes. Also what was even the point of Ubisoft announcing Insane for 2013? Do they really think that people are going to be chomping at the bit for info about a game thats at least 2 and a half years away?
