He didn't seem that intrusive to me, but I'm admittedly an amiibo owner. I've only used the Donkey Kong I got for Smash4 once, I'm kind of opposed to using Uncle Amiibo or Captain Toad or Talkatoo because I don't like the little emblem they put on my power moon list.
I think a main reason Uncle Amiibo has become part of the Giant Bomb conversation is because it definitely in some way recalls Jeff's Nintendo marketing recitation.
I'm raging hard enough at the first part of the Darker Side to want to make my first forum post about it. Don't think I had any problems beating any level except for the first moon escape, but this part with the fucking swinging bars and the lava is making me mad.
I know (hope?) it'll be worth it, but it's really throwing off my this-is-the-best-game-of-all-time momentum.
It probably also makes the games easier to make, and easier to make bigger. I don't see it as a harmful trend, it's not like there aren't any real-looking games being made.
