So I wasn't around yet for the last one of these; is there a difference between an Endurance Run and what GBE did with Life Is Strange or Contradiction?
Either way, good video.
No, its mostly a nastaliga thing, because the persona 4 ER was one of the best, and one of the first Lets Plays, at least that i remember watching.
I really liked the Myst series as a whole. They had 5 games, not including the Mist "MMO." They rarely reused ideas, and the worlds all felt like worlds, whether it be a jungle with monkeys and tigers running around, or a deserted space ship which hadn't been entered for years. It was also very good at subverting expectations, not just in the story but in the level design. The sub in Riven is a great example.
I really liked Jet Force Gemini, I know Jeff didn't, but it was a very good space horror game. It was also not a bad shooter for the N64. It also had a semi-metroidvania thing going on, where you would need to replay levels with new equipment or another character to get collectibles and find secret and even main story levels.
@tikicobra: I never played crash, but even back in the 90's it looked like it was awkward to control. And in a market with Rayman, Spyro, Banjo-Kazooi, and Mario it seemed lacking in personality.
I wish more games would use the gambit system. I also loved the open feeling of the world. Just having level 50+ enemys in the starting zone, knowing you had to advoid them.
The Neir boss combat was great. The diorama inside stuff looked great. And the story was interesting, and involved. But the regular combat wasn't that great, and it often felt like a choir, rather then the main game-play mechanic.
Im looking foreword to this, I just hope it makes generic combat better, and more varied.
