@vinny yes, they have done a game where you are the monster, Starship Damrey for the DS was a game from a level 5 project where they would let notable developers create weird niech downloadable games. It was decent visual novel/puzzle game.
I don't think Nintendo is trying to not solve problems. I think Nintendo is trying to do something unique with everything. They want to be able to point to the very unique way they solved the voice problem, or the parental controls.
But it just ends up with them trying to reinvent the wheal. and its never better then the original wheal.
I didn't like life is strange. It started strong, but the interesting thing to me was the surviving. Trying to live with your choices and realizing that things are not always your fault, and just because you can change something doesn't make you responsible for it.
Instead it breaks down into a scooby-doo murder-mystery. But the lessen is the complete opposite, instead of realizing that the world doesn't rest on your solders, the lessen is that the world does rest on your solders. Everything will end or you can have sex with your wafu. The first episode was great. The rest is a dumb WB show.
As a guy with Schizophrenia, this game gets a lot right, more then you would think. I would be amazed if the writer did not have it himself. Having said that its still pretty gameafide in parts. The voices never talk about stuff unrelated, they generally don't have conversations ether with Senua or with each other.
This game also has some amazing parts that are made even more emotional once you go through this. Not just the bad parts, but some of the sad and even some of the amazing parts ( the raven boss-fight to name one, where the voices doubt you but as you start winning they start cheering for you, they believe in you ).
Also the way the game is able to create the sudden and incredible sense of fear, paranoia, confusion and just not knowing what real or not.
Again, having suffered from this I think I appreciate the game more.
