Ori isn’t quite for me, but it is a well made game, if you are interested in the jump kind.

Feel like I’m forgetting something, but looking over the thread, that seems to be all the exclusives. They had some bad luck with games not working out and getting cancelled, like with Phantom Dust and Scalebound.

Less relevant now, but they did console exclusives like with Tomb Raider and Cuphead, although those games you can get elsewhere.

The 30th anniversary stuff just seems like a bonus, which I get why it would be a separate cost.

The Witch Queen will have its own raid and there’s speculation where they will bring back another raid (probably King’s Fall) next year also. All of that stuff will probably be tied to Witch Queen and the seasons. (Can’t remember if Vault was a strict season pass thing or how that worked)

I don’t think this is necessary that big of a deal, but I say this with the assumption that this is a one off. If Lightfall launched with a similar thing, that’s a trend, and a pretty crappy one at that. Destiny kind of bounces around between having a lot of engaging stuff and events that I shrug off due to a lack of content or a lack of desire of repeating something for the next month. If they get in a model of having people regularly pay for season passes and then bonus end game stuff, that sucks.

I paid for the deluxe version since I felt like I got more than my money’s worth out of the Beyond Light stuff, but I know that may be a hard sell for people. Again, kind of want to see if they try something similar down the line.

As other people have said, the concept is basically Fall Guys, except instead of just falling into a pit of goo or whatever you're character is killed.

That said, I didn't really see a "Battle Royale" game in the battle royale craze. That was something I thought would have happened. Looking back on the past 4 or so years and realizing that didn't really happen is a little shocking. Not seeing that happen sort of made me think how the obvious knockoffs aren't as likely as you would think.

I suppose it is slightly different in how Squid Game is a trending show, while Battle Royale was a cult classic that people talk about every once in a while.

This has been answered already, but just to add, whatever game you have is fine. I will say 1 and 2 have the best tutorials. 1 has the boat and The Final Test, while 2’s intro level has you break into a place and how to deal with a target in a hostile zone. The free form training in Hitman 1 and the first level in Hitman 2 cover everything about that game, although they guide you to different things.

Knowing how to play the game allows you to get the most out of Hitman. Replaying levels, setting stuff up, how to break into a place, what you can get away with, and how to get out of trouble are good skills to learn early on. From that perspective, 1 or 2 are probably a better place to start than 3.

I think it is worth seeing it all, if people ever get those games for free or discounted (if you don’t want to pay full price for it all). So my personal recommendation would be to start with 1.

Not sure how to answer the poll, but also it’s not like you have to follow a code or something. Like what if the three of you were friends beforehand, where that person is more like a mutual friend than so-and-so’s ex? What if you all were in the same scene or social circle? What if the previous relationship was just casual?

If it’s one of those things where you would only know about the ex through your friend, I guess that’s more noteworthy, but I’m not sure if there’s a definitive rule saying you could never date that person. It may come across as “off” depending on the breakup, how long they dated, and a bunch of other variables. If it was ever a situation were you are crossing some weird boundaries, it’s one of those things where there are plenty of other people you could date.

It really depends. The Resident Evil 2 remake was a game I really enjoyed, but ran into a brick wall (can't remember why exactly) and life got in the way. I thought about it for months, and settled on replaying the game on easy just to see it around Halloween, because that would have been a spooky thing to do.

This year, I dropped a couple of games. Nier Replicant is something I feel like I should see, but the game part of it left some to be desired (at least based on the opening hours). With Persona 5 Scramble, life got in the way as I was exited the tutorials, so don't have a ton invested in that. Both of those are games I feel obligated to see, but it's been so long since I touched any of them who knows when I will actually go back to them.

I have a pretty clear, "Don't waste my time" policy with a lot of stuff, so I'm pretty comfortable abandoning games or shows I'm just not into at all. But there's a lot of stuff that I would like to do, but just need to make the time and put in the effort.

My moves have been to various apartments or moving in with people, only to move out into an apartment. My last move was out of my parents place to an apartment. That move was about 700-ish miles away. I took just about everything when that move happened. There were a few things like a washer and dryer I left behind, because I didn’t need it anymore and it didn’t make sense to move it, store it, and then take it out later on. So my folks kept it until they moved, and then they threw it away.

Looking to move into a house soon-ish, and the stuff I don’t want I might get rid of before I move.

Reviews can highlight hidden gems or put a lot of attention on something you may not notice at first. Hearing the buzz for Parasite before it came out put that on my radar and I went out of my way to see it as soon as I could. I think Siskel and Ebert talking about Hoop Dreams many moons ago helped gave that mainstream awareness and hearing Ebert talk about it (I think it may have been one of their best movies of the decade or something) made me want to see it. A review can also provide another take or perspective on something, especially if I know so-and-so’s perspective on other stuff.

Most of the time they arguably don’t provide that value. Or at least those opportunities to add that value doesn’t regularly show up. It also seems like people treat reviews as self validation, so they can feel good when the game they’ve been waiting for all year gets good reviews, or they can get pissy if they think something is scored too high or too low.
