The combination of it being December causing schedule disruptions and the emphasis on live content making them unable/unwilling to put episodes in the can for regular release makes the site feel extremely thin sometimes (as in the past few weeks). Thankfully they've stuck with the "Bombcast comes out no matter what, no matter the form" rule since I'll probably keep listening to that regardless of anything else but whenever I start to like something they're doing it always gets hit with some kind of delay.
@trilogy: A month ago the "State of Premium" thread felt warranted and normal. The last few pages of it and this thread are demented. Its fine that some people identify specifically with Jeff G rather than the brand name he built but "Change the name now that Jeff left! GiantBomb is dead now!" is exactly the same stuff you see out of freaks that cry about Star Wars and Disney and whatever else. Get a life, jesus.
I really like Jan taking a more active role in stuff. I always liked Pokemonday Night Combat and anything he did with Ben. Having him gain confidence in being a main staff member and being enabled by Jess is great.
And Jess rules too. She's got creative energy the site needs right now. I would've loved seeing her do studio stuff.
There was no real mystery about why they left and it isn't really giantbomb's place to speak for former employee's anyway
It baffles me that people genuinely believe there's mystery or shadiness or ill-will there. Maybe if they're like, teenagers that have never worked/changed jobs before the reasons might seem kinda unclear but it took me all of five seconds after hearing the news to understand.
@nameredacted: I think Tom Holland could be a modern Keanu Reeves. He seems like he's got plenty of physical ability for stunts and action and is likeable and good looking. I assume Marvel and Sony are keeping him completely bubble-wrapped but if he ever got the chance to do something action heavy I think it could be great.
Not related specifically to this build but I have a question: why don't people talk more openly about the fact that Duke Nukem's most quotable lines are all stolen?
"Hail to the King, baby!" is from Army of Darkness. "It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of gum" is from They Live!. "I'm gonna rip off your head and shit down your neck" is from Full Metal Jacket.
I'm sure there's others but these are the ones I hear most often. And I understand the ideas of reference comedy and parody but even if that's the intended use in the games it feels like when people talk about Duke Nukem being good they reference those lines as if they're part of the Duke Nukem property and not references. Maybe people talked about this when Duke was relevant in the 90s but I want to put this rant out somewhere on the internet in my own words.
