Wow I stopped paying attention to this game back when they announced they were skipping co-op for 2 and would put it in the next game. Good to know that's a thing now.
I played a good bit of the first one, and then got to a part of the game where the trigger for the next story mission would just not fire at all and ended up stopping there. Scavenged an entire town waiting, making a ridiculously large safe zone in the process, and then fucked around for a few hours more while looking up possible solutions which never worked.
Yamcha's not in the Buu Saga because Toriyama LITERALLY forgot about him.
Yamcha is definitely in the Buu Saga. He's in the crowd watching the tournament with Bulma and Chichi et al. His character canonically retires from martial arts (just like Krillin later on) which makes perfect sense. Y'all need to stop with this "lol no1 cares about yamcha" blasphemy.
Duder, I main Yamcha in FighterZ. I love him, but that means I can also laugh at him. Resurrection F contains the line "I left Yamcha and Chiao-tzu behind. This is too dangerous for them" in a battle that includes Master Roshi.
Yamcha is a hilarious fuck-up.
I love Yamcha but agree with him being hilariously weak compared to the rest of the crew and their enemies, but I have to say Roshi is actually badass when he fights so I feel that's a poor comparison. He rocks those dudes in Res F. He also has some fights in Super.
But again, shitting on Yamcha will always be funny even though I like him.
@subscryber: Eh, different strokes I guess. I think 14 different weapons to learn is a good chunk of gameplay. I mean the -souls games have weapons which have a certain number of moves that you repeat as well. Pretty much every game does something like that, the key is to know when to use what moves to make things go smoothly.
The maps have a some exploration in them if you take the time to, err, explore them, but definitely not as much as a -souls game, so if that's what you're looking for then yeah MHW isn't for ya. Still, there are hidden camps and cat tribes and stuff to find. There are a good chunk of monsters, harder versions that act differently, etc. Learning how they act and fight, or watching them go do interesting little things when not actively fighting is something I really enjoy.
But hey if the game isn't for ya then that's fine, it is personal preference after all.
When I saw the title I was wondering if the duders were going for LR or HR because the others sounded like they weren't very far in the game. But I guess it's just Jason...
Any piercing attacks against Kirin (or generally the elemental Elders) seem pointless, when their body shields are active the projectile stops after the head anyway so you get like 1-2 hits, constant non-piercing fire tends to work better there.
This that challenging endgame content of circling the monster and spamming the same attacks and then chasing the monster. Phew, glad I stopped playing at hour 15.
That's the bow for you. Against Kirin you just don't want to go melee.
Yeah I don't get that comment...what do they think a bow does? Get up and stab them? It's also one of three ranged weapons and one of fourteen total weapons so it's not like you're locked into just one style.
Edit: Actually I forgot you can totally stab monsters with a bow. Dash+Triangle. Think it also counts as mounting damage too.
Anyway, I've found Dragonpiercer to do incredibly well against Vaal Hazak and Kushala Daora at least. Flash pods and Dragonseal tend to make them vulnerable enough that Dragonpiercer can do some work. Teostra mauls me if I even think about trying it, though.
I have yet to fight a Kirin (about 120-ish hours in and just recently saw credits, and haven't yet done the optional one for it) and while it doesn't seem too hard, I probably won't even attempt a Dragonpiercer unless it gets KO'd. I tend to dash-fire most of the time for other monsters anyway so that looks like the appropriate route for him.
@jehull: Oh man I thought that intro was the most awesome thing back when I first watched the original run on TV. Still pretty good. Also I never realized how many movie scenes were in that.
I'm using a heavy bow gun in World, I totally forgot how hard it is to sever a tail regularly because bow guns are so damn good at it.
Also using a Heavy Bowgun and I agree. Hit it with a bunch of Slice ammo and done, then just shoot their faces with explosions and minigun ammo. I feel like a Space Marine using that thing.
Starting to test out the Gunlance though and that thing seems super dope.
Anyway, woo finally some more GB MHW! Been looking forward to something on this game from the crew.
Shame that Amazon only has up to Season 3 for streaming but that'll last me a good number of All Systems Goku. Been so long since I've seen non-Abridged DBZ.
I know I've seen that ferret before. I'm shocked it doesn't have an entry on the site. I need archives!
I don't remember which video it was, but I remember them putting it into a wall slot somewhere in the CBS building (maybe during the move between floors?), leaving it there just to see how long it would stay before someone would move it. Turns out, it was still there months later.
Edit: Found it

I found it extremely funny when they brought it up (or simply went by it? can't remember) earlier in December, because it was in that cubby hole for three years. I was also surprised when it suddenly appeared in the studio shortly after, and kinda sad that it wouldn't stay with all those actual awards and important things. Still, for some reason that fucking ferret makes me laugh each time I see it.
And as for the rest of the video, it was fantastic. I absolutely love comedic terribly cropped shots.
