There's always time for a playthrough with a 'live-with-the-consquences' style attitude, but it's just that: a style. We also have a choice to re-do a mission if we want, and anything a game allows you to do is fair. If Alex wants to have Tali alive in ME3, he should do it. Simple as that for me.
I wouldn't mind seeing how ME3 feels without her, though; I always saved everyone so never saw the changes various deaths created.
@ares42: Interesting... Without spoiling, could you help me out by answering something (if you're far enough into the game to know, I mean)? Does this game unravel like Subnautica into a more focused experience with distinct goals to achieve after those 10+ hours, and does a tangible end-goal start peaking over the horizon? Or is it more a case of exploring for exploration's sake and having your curiosity rewarded?
It looks great, but I've been burned by so many of these types of games. Edit: I heard Brad say you ultimately get off the planet, but that's not the end, is it, just what the Astroneer does?
@shiftygism: Very much so, yes. 'Cos the name... Wasn't really talking about the awful story, just saying the song DOA would've been cool in the game DOA. Didn't think I'd get such a weirdly cold and dismissive reply to that to be honest.
I totally forgot Dream On was in this, somehow. DOA by Bon Jovi would've made more sense, though.
For me this game is much better than MK Vs. DC (which I actually think is a fucking terrible game). That's where I'd place it, around 28th. DOA 3 and 4 would possibly both crack my top 50 of a finalized list, but in this current ranking, they'd be in the top 25.
Tekken 3 is a trillion times better than the first, so I agree it being so high compared to this looks odd, but the list will make more and more sense as they start tackling the greats.
@moderatetrouble: Dayum, you really know your stuff; it's a fascinating branch/marriage of music and technology, much like the talkbox was -- I've become a bit obsessed with it over the last few years.
I have some software called VocalSynth2 which is packed with powerful voice modulation options that can make you sound like Daft Punk, Kavinsky, etc. I might play around with that and see how Miku I can get with it before splashing out on V4, but it'll be worth the money if I can't get that unique sound from my current suite of VSTs.
Oh, and I'll be glad to share some of my music with you when it's done! I feel your input would be valuable on it.

You guys don't know how deeply happy it makes me to see Soul Blade rank so highly on this list. I remember being dragged to a pawn shop when I was five years old to look at some bargains by my mum, and saw this game lit up in a display case alongside some other PS1 gems. It screamed to me that I needed it, and my mum said sure, despite the £25 price tag.
When I got it home and saw that fucking intro, I was so content with my life and my purchase, and then experiencing each of the awesome, imaginative stages one after the other without a single dud was just pure magic. I loved the simplicity of them -- stone platform + clean, beautiful background + animated element -- and that ethos of simple but clean is found in the mechanics, too. The soundtrack is also fantastic. I'm glad it soared into sixth place without a hurdle, because I never heard anyone but me talking about this game at school in the UK.
When I went to America in '99, one of the arcades had Soul Edge, and I couldn't believe it; it was my favourite game in a huge machine! (I'd never seen an arcade cabinet before). I met this cool group of teens and twenty somethings who were surprised such a little kid who could barely reach the buttons knew any of Siegfried's moves. One of them bet me his cup of quarters that I couldn't beat him, and I felt like a grown-up for the first time ever, it was rad. I absolutely destroyed him.
This and Tekken 3 are still my all-time favourites of the '90s fighters.
I think the Ultimate Spider-Man game with its awesome comic look was the best game before the newest one, with great fan service, swinging, and vibe, but I also enjoyed Shattered Dimensions for its interesting spanning of universes from Amazing to 2099. Spider-Man 2 was the absolute king in terms of traversal, 'til the newest one did it all so, so, so much better.
Insomniac's will be the number 1 for a long time. Overall, Spider-Man 2 isn't even in the top five spidey games IMO. The PS1 games, Shattered, Ultimate, and Spider-Man PS4 are vastly superior as packages.
When I first played ME I shouted, "That's Susie from Rugrats!" about that girl in the consort's building saying she has a brother in the army on Earth, and I shouted it again when I spoke to Macha Doyle. She's done voices in so much, though, it's ridiculous.
Oh, I've never seen this one. Of all the movies I did watch, the three I really enjoyed were Fusion Reborn, The Legendary Super Saiyan, and Battle of Gods.
