I finished Valkyria Chronicles 4 last week and thought the game was fantastic! This year I played through all of Valkyria Chronicles 3 , replayed most of the first game and played a good chunk of 2 and I would say that 4 is one of the best in the series. The gameplay is certainly the most polished.
Also, dude, Darcsens are not "dark-skins". They are a fictional race of people that have dark navy-blue hair. Raz is a Darcsen. Viola, and several other characters, are still racists but not in the way you are thinking of.
Also there is permadeath for non-plot important characters.
Also Scout units are way more important than you think.
The video game I would want a huge in-depth documentary about is Cave Story. That game was made by one dude over the course of several years and it would be super interesting to learn about how it came to be and the impact it has had on the indie game scene.
One think about this game's setting that I thought was really cool was that the MMO world in the game is not "digital" like it may sound based off the description in the Quick Look. The MMO world, CrossWorld, is a real-world place. It is a Disney land like amusement park on a moon and people on Earth remote control physical android versions of themselves that have special abilities like super strength and the like. It is a really interesting setting and, once I've finished some of my current games I'm playing, I will definitely be playing more of CrossCode.
@alvarofaraujo: No, the subbed version you found are most likely just rips of Anime Work's old DVD release of season 1. Episodes 25-35 comprise season 2. There are some super old VHS fansubs of episodes 25-28 out there but they are kind of unwatchable.
@alvarofaraujo: You can watch the whole thing on YouTube:

The first season is fully translated and dubbed but the second season has unfortunately never been translated (officially or otherwise). But the first season tells a fairly self-contained story. Also the dub is pretty good.
