Totally agree with a lot of what you said. Ultra Despair Girls is not perfect but neither is the series in general, in fact the "flawed" nature of Danganronpa is one of the reasons I like the franchise. Danganronpa never seems to be afraid to throw everything its got at the wall and while it doesn't always stick it keeps the games unpredictable and unique. Ultra Despair Girls especially doesn't shy away from anything and had a sort of out-of-control feeling that I associate with the series' best moments. If Danganronpa ever got too polished I feel it would lose some of its craziness but maybe that's just me.
I'm a little disappointed that we won't be getting a retail release of Maiden of Black Water here in the US but it is pretty cool that you can play the first chapter and a half for free. I'll definitely be checking this out as soon as it is available.
