EA just feels completely out of touch with their audience. They spend too much time on the wrong things and not enough on the right ones. BFV got waaay to little attention, sports too much. Also talking while showing concept art is just a horrific way to show of your games. Show don't tell, nobody told EA.
The idea that they are trying to get us excited that they don't have loot boxes is hilarious. "Hey guys we tried to nickel and dime you before but now we heard you didn't like it"
Shoutcasting the corpse of command and conquer is just insulting.
Ooh boy this guy can talk, I actually found most of what he said very interesting if a bit disjointed. Still, I really liked hearing such enthusiasm for something he created.
I just gotta say that I don't understand the complaints about the progression.
Like hes actually complaining about having to get 10 kills with a flamethrower. Really? OK maybe you don't like the weapon, but 10 kills means you have to use it in maybe one outpost, then you can switch to the next. Do you really not find anything enticing about having to use a god damn flamethrower? I just cannot for the life of me comprehend how a game wanting you to use all its tools being somehow negative.
Also as for it feeling more like checkboxes, that is exactly how I felt about the previous Far Cry games. You start out with embarrassingly few essential things like few weapons slots, and then you have to check your checklist and find a particular animal, skin it 3 times and then never ever bother skinning it again.
Furthermore I actually hated how skewed the XP system in previous games were towards stealth. The stealth in those games is so boring to me, but I got about 2-3 times more XP going into outposts like that. It really felt like the game punished me for playing how I wanted to a much greater degree than in here.
