Re: saying a quick hello to someone internet famous in public. Kate Welch (designer at WoTC on D&D, cast of Acquisitions Inc The C Team) once quote tweeted someone on Twitter saying to her something along the lines of "I saw you with your friends this evening and wanted to say hi and I'm a fan but didn't want to seem weird in front of your friends." And her response was essentially "PLEASE say hello, especially if I'm with people, it's a remarkable ego boost." It felt equal parts tongue-in-cheek and sincere, if that makes sense.
Apologies as I can't find the exact exchange but it always stuck with me as a reminder that if you can find a quick, respectful way to let someone know you enjoy what they do, they're more than likely to appreciate it.
I love the series, but I think both @alex and @vinny are missing something about weapons and loadouts. At one point in this episode someone mentioned "having 2 of" the new SMG you got during Kasumi's mission.
Weapons (non-heavy weapons, at least) don't work like that in ME2. Once you've found a weapon or bought a weapon once, any and all squadmates proficient in the type of weapon can use it at any time. Kasumi, Shepard, and Mordin can all take that kick-ass SMG on a mission at the same time. You don't have to worry about the number of specific guns you have at all. I think Jacob even has some dialog early about "microfacturing" early on in the Armory that explains this streamlining. The number of options you're shown are just the different options in that weapon class.
Truly love the series look forward to each new episode. Hope this makes it so you don't have to worry about weapon allocations anymore.
Still watching so I'm not sure how it will fare in the Best Moment category, bu the moment from Florence Vinny was describing is, for me, one of the most memorable of 2018. It was gutting to play and just as hard to hear described again.
Just wanted to add that I'm also loving the new format so far and glad to see the games the staff played getting their moment to be recognized outside a competitive/cutthroat environment before they get into awards and cutting down the full list to the site list. Jeff nailed it when he said the true, best, most meaningful part of this was always just talking about and celebrating games. In fact, I bought Moonlighter because of the discussion here and the Subnautica discussion reminded me to grab that from the Epic Games Store for free.
I think I might miss some of the goofier categories, but those discussions will probably come out naturally as games are discussed - who needs to hear a case for Cheeseburger as Best New Character when she already "got her due" during the Far Cry 5 discussion.

@Jensonb: Maldonado isn't an asshole, he's a hothead but he's also mega quick and probably a future F1 world championship contender. Don't forget that he is consistently in the top 10 and quite often top 5 in Q3 despite being in a midfield car in the Williams. His win in Spain was akin to Vettel in Monza. I know he has done stupid things but over the latter half of the season he has avoided incident and i think next year he will become a breakout driver if Williams give him something half decent.
Don't write off Maldonado as he is along with Perez and Hulkenberg the future of F1.
Today in Giant Bomb paying massive dividends by surfacing this Quick Look and this prescient prediction around "the future of F1" and "future F1 world championship contender" Pastor Maldonado.
(No malice to gamerpigeon if they're still active - I'm sure I've made equally bad predictions looking 5 years in hindsight.)
I wanted to thank Dan, Will, and all future guests for doing these. I'm not a designer or programmer but I really appreciate hearing people talk in detail about how and why things were done, and think this podcast in particular has shed some light on some usability/navigation issues I had and has helped me adapt.
Dan also mentioned, if I understood correctly, that the individual video page layout wasn't "complete," and I want to echo something I've said elsewhere and seen others mention, and that's that losing the links to a game's wiki page and forum has really made site navigation different. I hope these among the things Dan said were looking at being reintroduced (and sorry again if I misinterpreted what was said around that), because losing those really makes this feel more like "a website about video game videos" than "A website about video games" with a heavy focus on video content.
