    Super Metroid

    Norfolk is an areas of Zebes that is volcanically active and flooded with intense heat. Samus requires the Varia Suit to protect her from the extreme temperature. The Gravity Suit is necessary to navigate the pools of magma scattered throughout the area. Norfair is the lowest part of Zebes and home to Crocomire and Ridley. A large number of powerups are also found in Norfair including the Speed Booster, Ice Beam, Wave Beam, High Jump Boots, Grapple Beam and Screw Attack.

    Ridley's Lair is a subsection within Norfair.
