Overview
Cacatacs are mobile plants that have a Cactus-like body that is covered with spikes. They also have four legs made of spikes that they use to shuffle from side to side, and there heads take the appearance of a flower bud. There colors vary depending on there location: green Cacatacs reside in Brinstar, red Cacatacs reside in Norfair, and purple Cacatacs reside in Maridia.
When Cacatacs detect a threat they eject five thorns from their bodies. Two shot horizontally in opposite directions, two shot upper-diagonally in opposite directions, and one shot straight up. If Samus comes into contact with any of these spikes or with the Cacatac itself she will take damaged. However, Cacatacs have little protection and can be easily defeated with beam weapons or missiles.
