i Knew i could trust Edge to give an honest review.  

I already canceled my preorder after playing that horrible demo with borken controls, as did most of my clan members from socom. Screw you Guerilla games, shove your garbage control scheme.

Didn't have any trouble with the controls.  Just changed them around and they work fine. 

/shrug.  Think I will pay more attention to the other reviewers that hold more clout and not the people I rarely ever even hear about.

The idea of using a review to back up your personal opinion of a game is stupid. If you don't like the game, fine, that's your opinion, you're free to have it, but why do you need someone else to justify it? You're an individual, you don't need someone to back up your opinion for it to be valid. Especially when it sounds like 7/10 doesn't really back up your opinion at all, since 7 is a pretty respectable score, and it seems that you think the game is far below respectable.

This went well didnt it.

Anyway, I am still looking forward to this game. I havent read the review that the TC linked to but I will check it out and see what they thought of the game to give it a 7 (which is still a good score). Every one else seems to be awarding this game 9+ scores or 4-5 out of 5 etc. They must have picked up on something to go that far below the curve. I look forward to playing this game for myself.

Crysis is a game we shouldn't be counting.
If you really want Crysis to run like Killzone 2 on a PS3 you'll be paying 3000$/3000€ which is a ridiculous amount.
That's an ridiculous amount of money for a "platform". Also Crytek said in an interview they're not meant to be this gen. They're more for the PCs of 2012.
And by the way, I saw maxed out videos of Crysis and then I saw 720p HD videos on Killzone on a plasma-tv and guess what Killzone looks way more convincing to me.
Crysis's gameplay sucks anyways, every rich guy just buys it for its graphics and then throws it away cause gameplay = garbage.

While the controls are...slightly awkward...the game itself merits more than a 7/10 judging off the admittedly short demo.
I'd say a 8.5 is at least the right score, most likely a 9 (can't really tell- the difference is in features/lasting value)

Also my System costs for the parts about £300 now and it runs Crysis on Very High at 40FPS. So the whole £3000 thing is just from people who don't know what they're talking about when it comes to building or upgrading a PC.

You guys are questioning Edge magazine? They are the most professional mag in the entire business.
Their review won't make me not buy Killzone 2 which I'll get on day one, but it confirms my suspicions that it isn't the revolution in gaming that so many are painting it as.
Steve Jarrett based Edge on being a consummate professional magazine and to hear you simpletons take the word of official magazines and the woefully staffed by terrible reviewers sites like 1up and Gamespot over them makes me cringe.

Stupid thread is stupid.

Edge always gives out harsh review scores.  If you actually read the review you would know they praised the game and the only negative was the story.  So I'm guessing you just looked at the score.  In Edge score terms a 5 = Average.  While in most other magazines and websites 7 = Average. 

Also about the controls.  You can change the control scheme.  Also One 7/10 and you might it like the game is bad.  The majority of Killzone 2's reviews have been 9/10.
