I am currently at Sandtraps and i just got past Highway 17. Highway 17 was the most boring level i have ever played in the Half-Life 2 franchise.Drive, stop, drive, stop, drive, stop, drive, stop rinse and repeat.
I heard Sandtraps was about the same, and im disappointed if it is.
Half-Life 2

" dude... its a 6 year old game. ive beat it on hard episode 2 is the best ep one is pretty awesome also but kind of claustrophobic half life 2 normal feels kind of dated to m,e now "where did he say he's playing it on normal? and please, commas are your friends :P
Oh man, Sand Traps was one of the best levels! It scared the shit out of me the first time I played it. There is a good sense of tension.
And yeah Highway 17 was a lot of fun too. It's where you get the crossbow that you snipe that City 17 guard on the billboard. So cool.
I picked up my pre-order yesterday, and I have already beaten the game! Hopefully, Half-Life 2: Episode 1 comes out soon!
" @Ahmad_Metallic: maybe its one of those things where u understand it wen u write it but others cant really. w/e lets just drop it cus i hate fighting over the interwebs "im not fighting you, man :) and lets stop so we dont hijack the thread
Boxes are your friends....that is if I'm remembering the level correctly as it's been about 5-6 years since I last played it.
Which level? Currently? Right now, in 2010? Seriously?
I'm on some level in Half-Life 1. I can't recall its name.
I think my most recent playthrough is somewhere after exiting the mines out of Ravenholme.
To this day, I don't think any part of Half-Life 2 is boring. The stop and go nature of the coast can be a bit of a drag, but at the same time the exploration aspect of waltzing nto these creepy abandoned buildings in the middle of nowhere is kind of cool.
Sandtraps is the antlion crossing area, right? If so, sure, it's slow going, but it's also really tense and fun. Especially cool that they now have an achievement for crossing the whole area without disturbing the antlions (although the achievement failed to unlock for me).
" @emem said:Hmm I can't tell right now, don't remember how long it took me to finish episodes 1&2. But I think both episodes combined are as long as the original HL2, maybe a bit shorter." I loved the whole game when I played it back then, played it again about a month ago and I still love it. Episode 1 & 2 are even better and a little harder than the original. "But Half-Life feels longer to me. "
