This is great. Going to buy this despite all the stupid shit Phil Fish has said in the past. Hoping it will be bug free, a little concerned due to the problems it had on 360.

Fez Coming to the PCs on May 1
If I want to buy it I would wait for it to be on sale or trade some TF2 items for it because fuck Phil Fish.
Now PC and Mac owners can also appreciate what a pretentious douchebag Phil Fish is.
Still haven't forgiven him for his moronic twitter rants and general arrogance. I find it impossible to enjoy FEZ anymore because I know it was made by such a massive twat.
I would think you'd be a little sensitive to how people can be misrepresented on the internet after that weird thread complaining about you.
I hope he has another meltdown when people pirate it. It's always fun watching phil fish act like a child.
@abendlaender: That's kinda petty though. I understand the sentiment, but still.
I actually agree with you, I can be petty. I just don't like supporting people I...well...don't like. Like f.e. Dave Perry, I will never support him, no matter what he does.
Just want to say though, that I'm also not the kinda guy who screams at everybody who is going to buy this game on Steam or gets angry if it pops up on the Steam charts. It seems to be a great game, so why not.
Edit: Argh, I'm an IDIOT. Not Dave Perry but Doug TenNapel. I can'T even remember who I don't like. This is embarrassing x.-
This is good news. I'm still interested in playing Fez, hopefully these versions will have fixed the problems from the original, but I guess we'll have to wait and see on that one.
Yeah I plan on finally picking it up but I'm going to wait to make sure it's bug free before I buy.
And by the time I get that news I'll probably convince myself to wait for it to go on sale.

And that's coming from you, he must've been a bad boy.

I can imagine that a lot of people will pirate it just out of spite.
Oh, really?
Fez is a console game, not a PC game,” he [Fish] states, emphatically. “It’s made to be played with a controller, on a couch, on a Saturday morning. To me, that matters; that’s part of the medium.” I get /so many/ comments shouting at me that I’m an idiot for not making a PC version. ‘You’d make so much more money! Can’t you see? Meatboy sold more on Steam!’ Good for them. But this matters more to me than sales or revenue. It’s a console game on a console. End of story
So, how about that Phil? Changed your mind? Weird how that goes.
The game seems good, but nope. I really can't stand Fish so I wont support him.
Yeah I was going to post that if it wasn't already. To be a rational adult, some off-hand statement by the developer in an interview is probably a petty reason to avoid getting a good game, yet I fully admit I feel the same way. I mean if it was some slimy marketing-type finding a way to justify platform exclusivity it'd be easy to ignore; but when it's the game creator - someone who should know better - making dumb statements like that, I just don't want to support him.
Ultimately, I'd guess that statement probably was motivated by him acting like a marketing-type and going to bat for Microsoft to find an excuse to justify platform exclusivity which more than likely was simply motivated by their funding. What's ironic (probably not the right use of the term, but you know what I mean) is how quickly he turned on them once it came time to patch his buggy game and he found out how much he'd have to pay for it.
Phil's line about not caring about sales or revenue smells like manure. I suspect his loyalties go exactly as far as who is giving him money and who is asking for money...
I should complete that Fez guide I started. You still have a copy of it, @lordandrew?

Now, I'm not saying this isn't driven by money (which, TBH, is totally fine in my opinion - why not make as much money as you can?) But I am going to get exactly the experience he described, on my PC.
With a controller, on the couch on a big screen - all the benefits of the console experience but on the PC! As far as I can see it's win win, no?
People act like they've never said anything stupid. Give it a break. I hate Tom Cruise, but I don't let that ruin all the great movies he's been in.

On his AMA over at Reddit right now, he straight up said that this move was mainly about "profit". So at least he's honest about it now. And come on, everyone cares about money, so of course that initial statement was bullshit.
I think people generally wouldn't be so upset about a comment like that if it wasn't Phil Fish, who a lot of people try to find reasons to dislike even more. And I have no idea why anyone would boycott a game because of a statement like that, I really don't.
Fez on the go sounds like a perfect mix. Hopefully they can manage to figure out a deal that'll let that happen.
"BOO HOO. PCs are for spreadsheets." - Phil Fish
"But money is for everyone" - Bradley maker of shoes
All I can think of is FEZ + Oculus Rift.
I'm stoked for the Oculus Rift, but I can't imagine spending the crazy amount of money on a rarely-implemented peripheral, even if those rare instances are awesome.
3DS would be really cool, and I am sure it would do very well.
Either way I will be picking this up on PC day one for sure, I need to know what that huge hubbub was about.
Fez was a wonderful gaming experience. One of the best of last year for me, I'm so glad it's getting another wider release. I hope they've fixed their bug issues.
I should complete that Fez guide I started. You still have a copy of it, @lordandrew?
I'm sending it your way in a moment. I haven't converted the image markup yet, so you'll have to re-insert the images manually if you want them.
I for one won't play it anyway, I said that his douchebaggery towards Japanese game industry ruined any appeal that Fez could have for me and I'm keeping my promise.
People act like they've never said anything stupid. Give it a break. I hate Tom Cruise, but I don't let that ruin all the great movies he's been in.
Well's he's said a lot of stupid things, back to back, where millions of people could read it.
Still pretty hard to care about Fez. Too many other great things to play on the PC.
Than again, being $0.99 during a Steam sale never hurt a game's numbers, right?
Whatever happened to the "Fez will never come to PC" mentality?
He realized howm uch money he was throwing away and did a 180 spin. I had zero interest in the game despite his stupid comments about it being a console game for console people and would never see the light of day on PC as long as he had his way, but I might have picked it up during some Steam sale had he not have made them.
It's always so heart warming to see all the little fan boys up in arms whenever Fez is mentioned. "He hates Japan! and PCs! He is the worst human! I am a better person for not buying this tiny, incredible game!"
Sorry, where I wrote heart warming I meant to write ridiculous.
Anyway, I am super stoked to hear that it's not all figured out yet. Would love an excuse to dive into that game again.
This will easily become my most-gifted Steam game. All my non-360 "friends" need to catch the fuck up with the medium. Journey next, plz?

Phil's current twitter profile pic of Andy Kaufman pretty much sums him up for me. That's his shtick now, there's no point in course correcting. Once you accept people in the spotlight can be method-douchebags and still be good at what they do, it's easier to lay down a $10 to watch it happen.
If he's mean in private, there are laws and karma for that. To me, he's Tony Fishton.
@amyggen: That kind of irks me even more, because by saying he's doing it just for profit, he's basically implying that his original statement is still accurate, that you can't experience the game the "intended" way on PC (which is utter poppycock), and that he's only putting it out there for money, not because the game can be enjoyed just as much on PC as it can on a console. I'd rather that he acknowledge his original statement was BS; if he had said "that response was motivated by a need to defend my platform exclusivity deal, and I am not in fact completely ignorant of the proliferation of 'living room PCs' and don't think my game is so special it can only be experienced 'correctly' in a specific environment" then I might be less irked.
Again, I'm not arguing that's a rational reason to avoid buying Fez, but my interest in the game was always minimal anyway, so it just kind of makes it even easier to avoid or wait for it to be really cheap.

Yeah, im torn on this, i would love to play Fez but i dont like the idea of sending the message that people dont care about what developers say. Just so weird to me how people can pick and choose reasons for making stands for or against things.
Big wig ceos like Riccitello get raked over the coals for only being interested in money. But Fish will get a pass on this obvious cash grab just because hes an indie dev doing it for himself. He's already said this game is only coming out on pc to get more money. So either you rake his ass over the coals like everyone else or stop complaining when companies try to bleed money from dumber consumers who are willing to let themselves be bled. Fish is a jerk and blatantly mislead people about his character, stating he didnt care about the money, that Fez was a "console game"(whatever the hell that means) and that it would never come out on the pc. Now that he needs to squeeze more money out of people he crawls to the PC to release it. Fine, but dont try to act like you are any less of a snake-oil salesman then the stuffy, suited businessmen on the board at EA.
