Just as the title says is there any news on Yakuza 5 coming in the US?

I want to say it was more or less confirmed awhile back, but no date was given. I'll have to dig that up to make sure I'm not crazy though.

EDIT: I guess that was debunked. Bummer. Looks like there hasn't been any word yet.

You guys have to remember that Yakuza 4 came out March 18th 2010 in Japan and came out exactly a year later in the U.S.

Yakuza 5 came out on December 6th, 2012.

Theres still some time potentially, but you're right. We should of had news by now if so.

I don't know, but I hope so. I've bought all the other Yakuza games at this point and I need new ones! I wish my money was enough, but sadly one guy ain't gonna get a game localized.

I would say there's a good chance of it happening. Maybe at TGS more info will come?

Id buy it for sure. Hell, if SEGA is bringing a Hatsune Miku game over I don't see why they wouldn't gamble on Yakuza 5.

I think after Yakuza 4 I am kind of ok with not playing the series for a while - I mean does Yakuza 5 take place in the same little area again? They wouldn't do that would they? Playing as the different characters in Yakuza 4 was really interesting, especially since all their fighting styles were so drastically different.

It's been long enough since 4 that I am ready to play another one. God, it's been almost two years since I played 4...

Such a shame this game isn't getting a western release. Might import it and read a faq with some translations on it.

God I want this game so bad. Why does Sega have to be the absolute worst. :(

Actually Yakuza 5 takes place in five cities, with five playable characters.
