Xbox 360
The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation. It appears as an in-game item in several games.
My gamerscore just reset?!
This happened to me, too. And I have never played Mass Effect: I'm a Gearshead. I would be lying if I claimed not to care about my Gamerscore because I do. A lot. Anyway, I recovered (or downloaded, as it is now known) my Gamertag and the Achievements re-appeared. This also worked for my sister. However, I have heard it has not worked for some people. Let's hope Microsoft get on top of this asap. This is extremely serious for any hardcore Xbox gamer.
FINALLY got a call in xbox customer support with a fellow gamer who gave me her tag to verify
her score was also reset and has told me, support and tech teams are already working on a solution
i gave her a list of everyone's problems was eager to listen, she suggested NOT recovering your tags over and over as it could be corrupted data, meaning your tag might not even recover.
Hang tight, people, they're treating the issue as a Service Issue, not just an Individual Account problem.
I hate to see 5 long years of legit achievement hunting go down the drain.. and hopefully, i or none of you will have to.
seeing these posts made me call xbl suppot, and had me wait 45 minutes to get a call in.
hopefully, the short story i've written here helps some peopl

So it looks like this is happening to ME3 players only. @patrickklepek get in here Xbox live is ruining people's accounts with new game glitches again!
It's also happening in Battlefield 3, NFS, Skyrim, Dark Souls, and Kinect Sports. Those are just the confirmed ones, it's safe to say; everywhere.
And I already forwarded Patrick the hot scoops a while ago.
It might have something to do with playing online multiplayer, or games that have ties to it. I've noticed a few people I know getting this after playing Gears 3 (which is when it happened to me) either way, this is really strange.
Dang, one of the few moments I'm happy I rarely use online on my 360. Should have cloud save backups(if they're smart). Anyway, good luck to all the affected. That really sucks.
I just got to laugh at this whole scenario because we are all so busy with virtual scores that when there's a problem with them due to a server error we are all going ape shit over it. It's just some scores, and they're already working on it to fix it. If you're 'that' impatience to get your 'scores' back then you can log out and back in again, or recover your gamertag to fix it manually.
Recovered and now I have mine back that were lost. I am missing one achievement tough I gotten between now and yesterday but I'm not sweating it.
Ok guys, let's take a step back here.
These are achievements.
They don't do anything.
Ever.
I like my achievements too, I have almost 47,000, but those reactions on the xbox achievements site make it sound like Microsoft just deleted everything they bought, erased their save files, and took a dump on their desk.
Plus, people are getting their score back now, so yay.

Guys, chill the fuck out. Go on the website and you'll see some changes with the way the achievements/activity is being presented. It's just a small glitch, all these things are backed up on servers, etc. They will be back, quickly.
I know you both probably just assumed people were freaking out, but I implore you to actually read the thread. No one has been freaking out or worrying at all. It's been nothing but level headed casual conversation. We're all aware of the value-less status of achievements. We're just discussing what's going on. Take your chill pills to a place that needs them.
Xbox Live users report Gamerscores dropping to zero, MS aware of the issue (Joystiq)
So, according to MS, "We are aware of the problem and appreciate your patience while we implement a solution."
@Rolyatkcinmai: I know, there is level-headedness, but there is obvious panic and quickly to hate on everything. Someone said they were going to sell their xbox, and all their games, because of this. I've had trouble with my gamerscore lots of times. My score has been reset to 0 numerous times after earning an achievement, I would earn it, click the guide button to be greeted with, 'Play some games to earn achievements' with a big fat '0'.
I'm not referring to the people giving reasonable responses, sure it's jarring but calm down, lol.
Yep. We, at least me, was just seeing if it was a system wide issue or something on my end. If anything I got a little worried when I got the message about my account being logged into another account.@Melvargh said:

Anyway it seems to have been resolved, huzzah.
@Baillie: Pretty sure you should go and yell where the people are actually panicing and burning their 360's because that's not this topic. Kinda ironic that you tell Rolyatkcinmai to calm down when your first post in this thread starts with "Guys, chill the fuck out." which way more aggressive than anything he said.
@Rappelsiini: I apologise. It is just reaction to being on the internet, people always need to chill the fuck out, lol. I was just being the assertive. CHILL THE FUCK OUT SOLDIER, WE'RE GETTING YOU HOME.
Also, my 'calm down' comment wasn't towards Rolyatkcinmai, it was just a statement. :)
Wow...I thought this was just me for a second but damn, I am relieved. I know they are just points, which is why it makes me kinda sad that I care that much about them
I didn't lose any points, just my games all went away. One game in particular reset its achievements on me and duplicated itself in my achievement library like wildfire...
Xbox Support tweeted the following around 40 minutes ago:
If signing out and back into your profile doesn't correct your Gamerscore, please re-download your profile: http://xbx.lv/uyawiN ^BA

Edit: Oh, that might have been posted, but I think it's good to give a heads-up again.
Hi all, not sure if anyone has posted this, sorry if it has:

Hahaha, the hardcore users of that site must be going bananas right about now. Good times.
I am sure the issue will be fixed soon; this whole thing has made me realise how little I care about achievements and gamerscore.
What I was hoping was that the issue would be isolated enough that it would have been over and fixed by now.@thebatmobile said:

Hopefully this won't get to the point where press outlets are writing stories about it.Are you kidding? Isn't that kind of the point when something this stupid happens? They deserve the bad press.
Yeah, the press will be all over this shit.
Guess that isn't the case!

I was more referring to the xbox360achievements.com thread.
Also, I will distribute as many chill pills as possible throughout the internet. It is God's work.

Thanks for the hearty chuckle.
This just happened to me as well. It scared the shit outta me. What I did to solve it is deleted my profile and redownloaded it. All my gamerscore came back, and my heartattack was averted! I hope this fixes everyone's problem as well. Good luck. Also just in case, keep signing in and out of your profile if the other solution didn't work. I noticed that when I was doing that, I was slowly gaining my gamerscore back.
Mother fucker....Just happened to me too, I am kinda pissed (especially after I just S-ranked Dark souls)
Microsoft is saying they've fixed the issue and you can restore your gamerscore by signing out and choosing to download your profile again (no need to delete it first). it worked for me - for now.
That was really quite a scare. I guess I care a lot more about achievements than i always say.

It should also be noted that any achievements earned during this glitch will not be kept.
