World of Speed is a Free to Play online action racing game currently under development by Slightly Mad Studios, the developer of the Need for Speed: Shift series, and the crowd-funded Project CARS. The game is expected to feature fictional tracks set in London, Moscow and Monaco, as well as officially licensed venues such as Brands Hatch in the UK. World of Speed was initially expected to release some time in 2014.
After a limited beta period, the forums for the game entered into 'read-only' mode on the 1st of February 2017. The game is said to be undergoing 'substantial revisions' following a series of focus tests led Slightly Mad Studios to believe that the game 'was not good enough for our players'. A timeline for any future releases was not provided, and the game's future is currently unclear.
