    Wolvesvale is a small logging village of 400 people on the Canadian frontier. Despite its small size, it is the O'Connell brothers' main source of supplies, providing them with drink, weapons, and bullets. It is also a source of misery for them; the mayor dislikes them, the townsfolk think their sister's a witch, and the priest has made a deal with the Devil to kill them off.

    Wolvesvale is presumably named after the large number of wolves nearby.
