I dunno about the graphics... they look kind of... crappy...
I really wish they would just make a new Monkey Island game in 2D... something along the lines of Curse of Monkey Island.

Looks good, I liked the conversation part with Elaine. That was always the best part of the series for me because I love going through all the dialogue options.

The graphics are awful! I wish they had gone with an HD version of Curse of Monkey Island. I'll buy it though because of my love for the series.

Do people really need explaining to them why producing a regularly released 2D episodic adventure game is really not practical?


Sure, a 2D game would be nice. And it would be nice if all the lint in my pocket turned into money, too, but it's not really something I can reasonably expect to happen. 

I think, given the approach they have chosen it looks good.  Certainly has tons more distinctive art direction than the 4th game ever had, and I think once people see the finished versions of the walking round town bits and everything else coming together they'll be pleasantly surprised.

Not particularly funny and too reliant on references. 'Hey kids, remember this line? From when the series was great on its own merits?' I'll reserve judgement for the full.... episode? but if that's what they decide to show as the trailer...It seemed like a fan-made game aimed at people that can't let go.

She sounded really really damsel-in-distressy and that just doesn't fit with Elaine's character, the pitch needs to be lower and the delivery a lot less breathy also a bit more sardonic.

It's a quote from 5 games ago, have been beating to death ever since and isn't particularly funny, well timed or relevant to the dialogue or scene :) As I said, it's more something a geeky fan would say than Guybrush. Even 'How appropriate, you fight like a manatee'  would be better, or 'Look behind you, a three headed octopus' At least those are contextual. It's not good to whine about what's in a trailer, and now I'm doing it again.. but damn, the fans have already been burned by Escape and that trailer didn't even seem as good.

Wow. For someone whos played all of the MI games countless times the humor in these 3 minutes REALLY hits the spot. They really know what strings to pull to make the jokes feel both familiar and fresh.

The frame rate seemed startlingly low. Maybe it was the video compression?

It just doesn't look very good. I'm not particularly impressed, but of course, I never played the old SCUMM games.

Well, this struck me as... not very good. Worst of all, Elaine seemed way too ditzy and this had to be the least threatening rendition of LeChuck in, like ever. It's nice that you're trying, Telltale, but you don't really seem all that good at this.

I'm pretty excited. I love what Telltale has been doing with Sam and Max and the Wallace and Gromit franchise, and I'm sure they'll put just as much care, detail, and affection for the Monkey Island franchise as they would any other game.

They could go the route of traditional animation and use 3D for certain background elements but essentially use hi-res sprites for the rest. It would probably run on all sorts of platforms, netbooks and iPhones included.  Curse of Monkey Island was one of the best in the series in terms of presentation. Okay, it might not have the same nostalgia, but there's a goldmine to be made from playable animated movies, people!
