I hope that the game's submission system isn't 100% broken like the system was back in UFC Undisputed 2010, but I'm gonna buy this game just for the Pride ring/rules system. That's a must play for me now.

(Also, I sincerely hope that Brittany Palmer is in this game. Purchase will be justified.)

EA MMA was so much better. This looks like it uses the exact same engine and fighting system as Undisputed 2010, so no buy.

That submission game is a cat and mouse-style chase, with the dominant fighter attempting to chase down the submissive fighter. They're represented on the edges of that octagon with a small dot for the submissive one, a larger, but ever-shrinking line for the dominant one. Catch the dot with your line and your opponent will tap out."

@pantzing_nome: That's so awesome to hear. EA's submission system was a ton of fun to use. Kinda bummed we're not getting another one of those games, but with StrikeForce pretty much on the outs, it was never guaranteed to see a follow up.

If you can run an OWGP in this it's an immediate buy for me.

I skipped the last UFC game after watching footage of somebody getting KO'ed by a right hook to the elbow. I hope they spent time improving the FIGHTING system and less time improving SPONSOR PATCH LOCATION mechanics.

I love Bas Rutten, his bar fight stories are epic. I don't think I'll get this game because they haven't figured out how to make them play well but I'd totally buy a Bas Rutten Bar Fight game. I want to play the scenario where he fights a crowd of broomstick-wielding bouncers who turned out to be off-duty police officers and then get thrown in a prison dug into the side of a mountain - or at least that's how he tells the story.

I loved pride, as it got me into MMA while the UFC was shitty with guys like Tank Abbott, but it feels like THQ is trying to sell this game just on the addition of the mode. They should be showing off more improvements from the 2 years or whatever it's taken to develop this, but it'll probably sell well regardless with the same shitty gameplay.

the kick at the end looked so bad. The guy getting kicked wouldn't fly up off the mat backwards like that.

UFC 3...hmmmm...well, I hope Bas Rutten is in GTA V-Five!

just looked at the roster and they don't have Sakuraba or Igor Vovochanchyn. :(. still it will be nice to bring old Wand back to stomp peoples head in.

Finally! An answer to the question we've all been asking. Is it possible for a fight presenter to mention the words "Japan" or "Japanese" without also including the words "pride," "honour" or "samurai"?

So far, no.
