    Valerica, a 'Daughter of Coldharbour' & 'pure-blooded vampire', is the wife to Lord Harkon, a vampiric leader of the clan Volkihar, and mother to Serana, a young vampire woman accompanied by the Dovahkiin (Dragonborn) in the first downloadable content to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim called Dawnguard. Valerica hid Serana away from Lord Harkon in Dimhollow Crypt With an Elder Scroll for centuries to avoid a sacrificial ritual to block out the sun.
