Hey, I've mentioned it on the last couple of UPFs, but CBSi is currently looking for both a Front End Developer as well as a UX/UI Designer. What do those words mean? I don't know because I'm not a nerd. But if you are, then maybe you'd be interested in applying for a job here! The listing for the front end developer can be found here. Hey,

I've mentioned it on the last couple of UPFs, but CBSi is currently looking for both a Front End Developer as well as a UX/UI Designer. What do those words mean? I don't know because I'm not a nerd. But if you are, then maybe you'd be interested in applying for a job here!

The listing for the front end developer can be found here. Unfortunately the job listing for the UI/UX designer isn't up yet, but I'm told that you can email in a resume if you'd like to be considered. Please email me at [email protected] with your resume attached and with the subject line of "CBS UI Designer Resume" and I'll try to get them over to the right place. Feel free to include a link to your portfolio (no attachments!). I'd strongly advise you to also follow up and apply directly via the listing when it goes live, which will hopefully be happening soon. I'll edit the link in here when I have it, and I'm sure I'll also mention it on the Twitters when it goes up.

Here are the current requirements for the UI/UX position; some of these may change before it goes live. Both of these are in-office San Francisco positions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conceive and implement new designs for pages or fragments on the Games properties on desktop and mobile, clearly communicating your ideas to Product, Marketing, and Content

  • Be the user advocate, developing mental models, information architecture, and interaction patterns that guide the visual design of the Games sites.

  • Create aesthetically-pleasing, clean, functional UX/UI designs with an eye towards ease of implementation

  • Contribute to implementation of designs within the site framework in coordination with a team of other designers and front-end developers

Required:

  • Strong portfolio with live examples

  • 5+ years UI/UX, design, or other relevant experience

  • Expert in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or comparable design software

  • HTML and Object-oriented CSS familiarity with experience in responsive and multi-device development

  • Experience with CSS pre-compilers such as SASS/Compass or LESS

  • Understanding of modern front-end performance techniques on mobile and desktop

  • Familiarity with Git or other source code version control system

  • Preferred:

    • Strong background in JavaScript

    • You’ve been to E3 or PAX
