The game's mechanics are not suited to any sort of precision platforming which makes the numerous times you need to leap for you life in Subspace Emissary such a chore. It's so much of a chore that I just set the difficulty to easy so unlocking all the characters would be as painless as possible. It didn't help that the environments are so bland and lack the personality and parody of the adventure mode in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
I'm glad that I'm through with Subspace Emissary because now I can mess around with Classic Mode and the Events Mode.
