After a long 23 hours, I finish the single player story of Crysis (PC). To get there, I had to suffer through scripting errors in the third mission and a complete computer lock up in the last. Apparently, quick saving messes with the scripting and running on DirectX 10 can break the last mission. Technical problems aside, the large scale action in the game was quite fun. I played it in a slow manner where I abused the cloaking ability in areas where I didn't need to kill everything. The suit powers are fun to mess around with though Maximum Armor and Cloak are the ones that carry you through the campaign. The environments and effects are still pretty despite the game having been released in 2007. It is a sign of CryTek building something ahead of its time (for better and for worse). It is a shame that I ran in to the technical problems because otherwise I would think Crysis is a great action game. Instead, it is a action game that reached too far in its technical ambitions and soured what would have been a great experience.
