What I’ve been playing this week (5/23)

Let’s see. First and foremost, I suppose, would be Under the Knife 2 for the DS. I know it’s a fairly old game, but I’ve been coming back to the other Trauma Center games now that Trauma Team is coming out for Wii. (You can check out my Second Opinion review.) I beat that game in about three days or so, and it’s pretty good. I’m almost reluctant to play New Blood or Trauma Team now because I’ve become so attached to the characters of Under the Knife. If you’ve never heard the words “epic” and “surgery” in the same sentence, I’d suggest checking them out.

Next up is Split/Second. Even after reading Ryan’s review and even shelling out the cash for the game, I’m kind-of not happy with it. I was planning on getting both Split/Second and Blur, but now I realize my heart lies with the latter. Oh well. The game is pretty visually spectacular, and I’m sure I’ll enjoy it - I just need to save up some more cash for Blur. 

Anything else? Super Mario Galaxy 2. Ryan, the man of many recent reviews, said it best - “Yo, it’s more Mario Galaxy.” And it is - but it’s REALLY good. Every review about that game is totally right, and I’m loving it so far. I think I have about 20-ish stars. I also played the ModNation Racers demo, and dang - that’s a lot like Mario Kart. Still, it’s got a unique charm to it, and I can see myself getting it in the future. Also, Bit.Trip Runner. That game is way hard, but I love, love, love it for that. The game is just way too good to be brought down by a petty thing like difficulty.
