Tonight we pay a small tribute to a dashboard system that as served us faithfully for a good three years now. It wasn't always kind to us and we even got mad at it from time to time. But it always provided us gamers with the content we needed and loved. It often worked silently in the background while we looked to download the latest Rock Band track and play some Gears of War at the same time. It provided us with hours of entertainment and although it became old and rusty towards the end of it's life span. It will be remembered for being a new and fresh innovation in providing gaming content and gaming journalism. Updates saw the ability to download whole High Definition quality movies to our Harddrrives and it allowed us to talk to our Windows Live Messenger friends while we played the latest and greatest games. it saw a revolutionary move in content reaching the gamer and it soon became clear that our dear old Blade system couldn't handle the huge amounts of content being added to the Marketplace on a daily basis.For many it will happily be forgotten, while others will have more fond memories such as the first time we turned on our Xbox 360 systems all those years ago and first saw it's colourful dashboard waiting for us to use it to it's upmost. But much like the Videogame industry, change continues to flow and a change in the dashboard system was eventually needed. So we now look to the the future of the New Xbox Experience and maybe even the Xbox 360. Is it a new age for Microsoft's much loved console or a final attempt to bring life into a dieing system. It all depends on your opinion. But what cannot be forgotten is the fact that the Blade Dashboard system hasn't just offered extra content for us to play or watch, but it's also opened up a brand new area of console gaming. An area we never thought would ever be possible when Sony released there hugely successful Playstation console back in the 90's. So even if you loved it or hated it, it will never be forgotten for providing hours of extra fun and content for us all to enjoy on our own or with friends. Of course tomorrow you will start up your Xbox 360 console and download an update to enter the world of the New Xbox Experience. Let's just hope it can provide us with the consistent and brillant amount of enjoyment the Blade Dashboard System did.
