Ran into 3 radscorpions in New Vegas at level 2. Would have died if I hadn't stolen a shotgun and a magnum and even then barely made it through and ran out of ammo at the end. Got really lucky at the end when I managed to escape from a 4th giant radscorpion that would have definitely killed me.
