Ah Hell No
So Rare thinks they thought of the Mii's first, eh? Look, I don't like getting into these console slap-fights but dude, that's a straight up lie. Now I'm not saying that whoever first pitched this didn't do it of his own free will, but if I may give you a brief history lesson of the Mii's...If you would please watch this, which I believe anybody who finds video game development interesting should read anyway. At a GDC conference a year and a half ago, Mr. Miyamoto discusses the history of Mii's and just how far back the concept reaches. I think you'll be surprised.
OK, if you're too lazy, Miyamoto developed the technology for it all the way back in the 8-bit era, and has tried to bring it back every generation. There's a very nifty scene in that video where the "Mii"'s dance with Captain Olimar and some Animal Crossing characters in an old Stage Debut program. The N64 version that it evolved from featured a very detailed tailor system, too. It's a very charming video, if you haven't watched yet, PLEASE go back and watch it!
Now then, let's all make our Mii's, our Avatar's, and our... Home.... Homies? Geh... Whatever, let's make 'em, use 'em, enjoy 'em, and stop bitching, hm?
Every time I see you, I think of you
Every time I'm near you I think of you
I think of you when I dream of you
when I'm taking pictures
I think of you when I'm in a blimp
Looking down from above you.
