Thoughts on E3, Day One.

So, I'll just go all out and steal the format from Ajay. But do it with pizzaz. :D 'Cause I'm bored. The man talking about COD: Black Ops made me giggle. Out loud. Way corny. Game looked alright. Rough, but alright. I dig flying the hind and blowing stuff up. Halo Reach blew my mind. Expansive areas and space combat? Count me iiiiiiiin. Times a million. Gears 3 looked sweet. - The man talking about COD: Black Ops made me giggle. Out loud. Way corny. Game looked alright. Rough, but alright. I dig flying the hind and blowing stuff up.
- Halo Reach blew my mind. Expansive areas and space combat? Count me iiiiiiiin. Times a million.
- Gears 3 looked sweet. It's nice that they're going all-out for the co-op stuff. Swapping weapons with each other, levels built for 4 players, etc etc. Fight through the pain!
- Kinect looks dumb. I sat there watching the whole thing with my girlfriend and we both had the same disappointed look. I think it's retarded but her words explain it better. "There's so much potential they're just not using. Petting animals and rafting. What about acting out your character in an RPG or interacting with NPCs in other games?" she says.
- I don't care about sports, but the ESPN stuff was the best part of the show. Those two guys were funny.
- My BFF Oscar.
- YOU-BA-SOFT.
- No big exclusives. Seriously. They showed 3 exclusives, two of which were trailers and the rest of the exclusive were the dumb Kinect games.
- The new 360 looks like a crapped up Alienware PC. Terrible. I might just get it. Built-in Wi-Fi and 250GB HDD? Fuck. Hard to miss out. Also, whisper quiet.
- Overall, pretty disappointing. They had a terrific showing last year. I don't know what happened but this year was boring, uneventful and watching an hour of people acting having fun was depressing. Hopefully better stuff comes out of the show later this week for them.
- Start the conference with a new Need For Speed and it's a Hot Pursuit game? FUCK. YES. I literally screamed "OH SHIT" at my TV. Criterion developed and looking like a true successor to one of the best racing games ever made. I can't wait.
- Dead Space 2 looks like Dead Space, only a sequel. The church stuff looked... rough. But I loved the expansive city and the helicopter sequence. See tomorrow what the end of the demo is!
- Medal of Honor looks awesome. I love Bad Company 2 but man... I miss MW2. It's great to see that MOH looks like MW2 done right.
- The EA Sports stuff was whatever. Madden looks neat, I just have no interest with any of it. The training stuff bored me.
- Bulletstorm looked insane. The dialogue was so retarded but the game looked way fun. I miss ridiculous shooters.
- Star Wars. Gross.
- I missed the first part of the conference. Was playing Red Dead Redemption. I sincerely hope Child of Eden comes out on PS3. I'd kill myself if the sequel to my favorite game comes out for the one peripheral I'll never actually play on.
- Missed this stuff.
- When I tuned in, Shaun White was on stage being the loser he is. Then they showed his game. HE WAS GRINDING ON CAPPED BENCHES, LEDGES AND RAILS. Go fuck yourself Shaun and Ubi. You don't make a skateboarding game and then ignore any kind of real world physics. Not that the game is going for a realistic touch or anything. The actual skateboarding stuff looked super robotic/automated and the level stuff was 100% Okami/DeBlob. Wonderful.
- I forgot.
- Breathing simulator.
- Laser tag. The audience looked like they wanted to kill themselves.
- The host man wasn't funny.
- Let's exercise.
- Ghost Recon: Future Soldier looks INSANE. I was wishing for a RB6 game but that'll do just fine. Wow. So good.
- Rayman looked super cool.
- I closed the browser as soon as they announced Michael Jackson. Time for the world to get past that shit. Seriously.
- Oh crap, that's right! Driver! Ha! Ha ha! Fuck you, Ubisoft. A coma? Just... fuck you. In the ass. With a pitchfork. A rusty one. With a broken shaft that will break off as I stab the fork up your collective asses.
So yeah! Day one, pretty neat. Some great stuff, some pretty awful stuff. Has me excited to see what's in store for tomorrow! Props to AjayRaz for being retarded on Twitter alongside myself, haha.
