WHAT TWO BLOGS IN ONE DAY?
Yeah I finished Dead Space about an hour or two after I made the last blog, and I thought I'd do Saints Row 2 before I get to the very end of the game... since it wouldn't really be "impressions" anymore. Anyway, Saints Row 2:
- Soundtrack is miles better than before. I can actually name more than one artist, which I couldn't even do in the last game.
- Character customization is a lot deeper, you can give a black guy an female Asian voice, awesome, and exactly what I wanted from SR2
- Camera is a lot more active. It jumbles around while driving, running, or doing jumps etc.
- Physics seem toned down so you don't fly across the island when you get hit by a car
- New activities I've tried so far: Trail Blazing, Septic Avenger, and Crowd Control. Trail Blazing seemed lame, Septic Avenger was hard, and sort of confusing. Crowd Control is fun. I've also tried Insurance Fraud, and Rampage, but those are oldies returning. All activities are out of six levels now instead of eight.
- Planes, helicopters and bikes all handle like crap, GTA remains supreme in this category
- Co-op works great, players can go as far away from each other as they want
- The game takes place in the same city, but it don't have a feeling of "Ugh I've been here before" a lot of small changes make up for the same local
- Cars are a lot faster
- Voice acting is superb
- Story overall seems surprisingly dark.
- I just finished the "Brotherhood" mission strand of missions, and a lot parts have really surprised me. The professionalism of the voice acting and seriousness of some of the scenes is astonishing. I'm wondering if this continues on with the other two gang's missions. In Saints Row 1 there was two serious plotlines and one ridiculous one that sort of ruined it, I'll have to see how everything wraps together
Saints Row 2 is about Ninjas... well, not really, but you can use Samurai Swords and dress like a Ninja. TECMO WATCH OUT! So far I'm LOVING Saints Row 2, given that last bullet point, I'm wondering if it can actually beat out GTA 4. We'll see how things go.
