Dawn of War II (Free)

Short, enticing title, hm?

The Dawn of War II Multiplayer Beta Demo is out on Steam, and anyone can download it. I'd suggest checking this game out, it's the type of RTS that I enjoy. Very battle focused, zero base building, and all great fun. As long as you have a steam account, you can download the beta. So far my impressions are:

• Similar to Company of Heroes. It's the same developer so of course it's similar, but I didn't think WW2 tactics would transfer over well to... Warhammer...
• Eldars are way over powered. If you decide to play as them, make a bunch of small time units, and then get an Avatar at tier 3, the game is practically over.
• Space Marines suck
• Orks have great early game, but later on they're not so great. Although my friend learned that massing a lot of small units seems like the "Ork" tactic
• So far I've done pretty well with Orks and Eldar, the Tyranaid/Zerg guys seem cool, but I never do well with them
• Maps are pretty good
• I was playing the game with every graphically featured turned off or lowered because I was over my friend's house and had to use his laptop to play it, but the game was still fun. So even if you don't have a beefy machine, you'll enjoy it
• Games for Windows Live means... achievements. What's more amazing is, there isn't a console port! This is the first PC exclusive to get achievement points, I support this, so I'll be buying the game for sure
